First, you need sterile spores. Try ralphstersspores, i have had good luck from them. Understand that every process in the cultivation of mushrooms is very sterile, up until the point where your cakes are put with your vermiculite, because at this point they are able to withstand contaminates that would other wise ruin you flushes. Ok, now on to the "ingredients"

1) Organic Brown rice flour-it must say organically made or something to that nature. The reason is so that it does not contain any chmeicals that could hinder your future fungi

2)Vermiculite- Dont worry what for just yet, just go to walmart or lowes, and grab a bag.

3)Canning jars-personally i like the kerr jars, the seals tend to last longer and they are convenintly found everywhere. Either 1/2 or 1 pint jars will work, jsut make sure they're open mouth jars. If not...well you will see why if you don't.

4)RUbbermaid containers- Found at walmart, get some decent size ones, about the size of two shoeboxes.

Those are the basics, everything else is items you will have around your house, if not they are very easily accessible.

Also, you need patience, and alot of cleaning will be involved in the first few stages.

Go for the golden cubensis, some places call the gulf coast cubensis.

As for the pressure cooker, I usually yse a pot and boil them, because i have never had any problems with conatminates doing it this way. If you want to go buy a pressure cooker, then do it, they are useful, but understand you don't have to have one.

well im thinking about getting alacabenzi's and hawaiian.

i choose these because the alacabenzi's are great for beginners, and are very contaminate resistant.

the hawaiian strain have very big caps, and easy to grow. with very few aborts :D

i heard from shroomery not to get golden teacher (golden cubensis)

however, golf coast is where i will be growing these babiess :D

Really? Shroomery said not to grow Goldies? Thats awkward because i have found through personal experiences from the 15+ different strains i have grown, that cubies are most contaminant resistant, higher yeilding for the amount of effort put in, and also have a great potency, even thought they can fluctuate quite a bit.

Both of those strains are excelent as far as potency, i have grown both.

Also, there is a strain that looks, well for lack of better words, like a penis. They,( i have a feeling i might regret saying this lol) taste amazing and are one of the better trips i have come to in my life.

You will be amazed at how wonderful it is to see these little things grow and then the satisfaction of eating them and the effects afterwards.

They are second only to good 'ole mary jane.

Forgot to add that i also live in the gulf coast area, and all have succeeded (the strains) in this warm environment we tend to keep in the area.
