Here is what you need to produce CO2:
·5 gallon water bottle
·10 pounds of sugar
·Champaign yeast (do not use bakers yeast; bakers yeast will die in the alcoholic mix. Champaign will live much longer in this setup)
·Yeast energizer (vitamins for yeast)
·Some plastic piping
1.Drill hole in lid to the 5 gallon bottle for the plastic piping and seal it in place with silicon.
2.Put 10 pounds of sugar into the 5 gallon bottle
3.Fill the bottle three fourths to the top with warm water
4.Add yeast energizer to the bottle
5.Shake well to dissolve the sugar
6.Yeast needs to be put in warm water for approximately 15 min before adding to the mixed bottle of sugar water, once you put the yeast into the bottle do not mix just poor it in and let stand.
In about 3 hours you will be producing CO2. You will see bubbles floating to the surface of the bottle; the pressure will be released through the plastic piping.
I have my piping hooked to the back of my area fan so that when the CO2 is released it will be blown over the plants.
Every month you can add a couple pounds of sugar to the bottle to feed the yeast, this solution should last 3 to 4 months.
