First grab a drum 25L i use, remove the bottom plug,with a round file work the plastic so garden hose fits tightly.(about 6 feet) then get a container for your pots to sit in. I use polysterine boxes from fruit and vege shops,i cut holes in the top to fit 6 pots(so its sealed no evaporation) i then place a hole 6 inches from the bottom of the box. Now fill the drum with nutrient water raise the drum half a foot higher than the bottom of the box pull the hose through the small hole in the box and lay the hose on the bottom. The the drum fills the box to just obove the hose and will maintain the level till the drum is dry.You can plug several drums into the box to automate for months.I modeld this idear from a bird feeder. no pumps,valves, timers.
