:D using 3 right now. My problems are always with nutes though... I have no idea how much I should be using etc... Using dyna grow 7-9-5

My particular version required the purchase of one $0.97 adapter, 1/4" hose barb that is threaded at one end to screw into the bottom of the manifold. The 1/4" end fit into the pieces that came with my pump so no 1/4" hose was required in my application.

Another tip:
I purchases both air and water pumps that could be repaired. Air pump diaphrams wear out, and water pumps usually have small parts wear, out although neither are expensive to replace, I find it easier to replace a diaphram or impeller than to purchase new items all of the time. Besides, if things fail...spare parts are small, cheap...and can be kept on hand for immediate repairs.

I agree, even I can build it, although you have only shown the grow tub, and not the reserviors it seems to be like some sort of bubbleponics hybrid

hey guys i just built my own 12 planter w/ 4" net pots using a 50gal tub, everythings great EXCEPT, i only have 1 12" air stick, and the water pump is 250gph, but it only trinkles into the 12 nets, i mean its a constant stream, but not strong compared to the Stealth Hydro video on their website. They use a 200gph pump for 6, so since I have 12 do I need a pump twice the power? But those 400-500 gph pumps are 70+ bucks a pop, so whats your advice, shell out the money for bigger water and air pumps?

does anyone know how many liters those 6" net pots are? and also if your running just an air stone you do run it 24/7? :peace:

Are you trying to run top feed along with a bubbler system? Your going to have to add an additional air stone for a 50 gallon res imo. Also if your not feeding from the top then you must be attempting an aero system where the net pots are getting sprayed at the bottom. If this is the case for that size res you will need a 350 gph. $70 is way to much. You can get a mag drive pump for $50 & there are other pumps that are way cheaper. check this site Grow Lights, Grow Bulbs and Hydroponics - Plantlighting Hydroponics & Grow Lights

Yeah you must run it 24/7 or else your res will develop algae from the water being stagnant & your roots will also start to rot. The whole thing with DWC is to continuously provide oxygen to the roots for continuos growth of the plants. :leaf:

Some growers run their drip for 15 minutes every 3 hours, but as the plant gets bigger the schedule might increase. Check out a thread from UNITY. He was using GH's waterfarm which is a drip system. :peace:

thanks for the link southfloridasean, i have a question why the huge price diff between magdrive and ecoplus? is it two diff brands, or two diff TYPES of pumps? ecoplus seems to have more GPH per dollar.

Well the magdrive are excellent pumps but a pump is a pump. The ecoplus is also good but I guess the magdrive satisfies the industry standard. There is nothing wrong with the ecoplus, they can be used & will suffice until one can afford the magdrive. :peace:
