it isnt the greatest pic, but I saw it on my bud.. looks a bit like staminate flower of a male?? but theres no signs anywhere else and I plan to harvest in about a week.. I dont think its a hermie, might just be part of the bud.

*Im talking about the little red circle thing in the first pic

any ideas?

this is the only spot where there is anythign suspicious.. ive read that its not uncommon for female pants to develop staminate flowers when there is 2 weeks or less to harvest and this is fine and shouldnt effect the rest of the plant.. thats even IF it is a staminate flower.. Im not sure
Cant seem to find that spot again and dont want to pull the plant out again.. i was just wondering if anyone could tell by the pic?

Can you try to take a picture that has the area in question a bit more focused..

it does look suspicious..

did you squeeze it to see if there is a seed in it?

cheers

Hey GN, nice to hear from ya! :blsmoke:
Ive tried to take a better pic, best I can do with this crappy cam.. edit - oh yea and i poked at it and didnt feel a seed or anything, but it still looks weird

First pic is of the same spot, 2nd pic is just another shot of one of the other colas.. stopped feeding her nutes a week ago, plan to harvest in a week.. some of the trichs were amber under the scope and shes been flowering since april 19th.. DOes she look like she'll be ready in a week?
Im thinking of harvesting the top colas first and then letting the rest mature a bit more while closer to the lights.

dang.. nice nug bro... yeah I can see the spot in question.. the brown thingy correct? did you squeeze it.. It could be a seed.. soemtimes pollen will blow in from the OUTSIDE WORLD.. :) LOL

can you take a picture of you entire grow.. so that I can see the lights .. I love looking at CFL grows.. You have the lights placed nicely. and your nug does look close to maturity!! congrats

IMO...the red/brown is a dried up stamina flower. The yellow "banana or 'nanner" just below it is a flower about to open. They may/may not contain pollen but at this late date...it won't matter unless you have other blooming plants in the space that are in thier first weeks of flower.

If it isn't that..it's bud rot (boytris)...so hope it's a nanner...

pick em off and let er go.

I cut it off and it definately looks like a male flower.. should I worry about my other plants in flower right now?? i have 2 plants that are about 4 weeks that are in a close by chamber.. the flower is long gone down the drain, but i hope it didnt release any pollen

my timer broke a little while ago and it was messed up for a few days.. maybe that caused the male flower?

Could be the timer snafu....could be a slight light leak in your room, could just be genetic. Many strains will throw a few flowers out near the end of their lives...

You'll just have to keep an eye on it. It may not pop anymore..or it may just be the start of a slew of em. Have you grown this strain previously or know it's tendencies?

good luck
