Highlife seeds scam? Or is Attitude starting to "sell" our private info?

Never purchased anything from this seed bank, http://www.highlifeseeds.com/ yet they have ALL my info. Name, address, email and other stuff.

The only bank I have ever purchased from was Attitude. So either:

1) I'm paranoid. But how do you explain the email from Highlife with ALL my info?
2) Attitude is selling our info off to other seed companies.
3) My info was stolen and is now being passed around.

Is Highlife an up and coming seed bank hiring ex Attitude employees who stole a bunch of data bases? Or is this some kind of sting op set-up?

Who has the dirt on this seed bank?

story was strange enough to get me to search a little
there's a review by bestseedbanks.com, which says they're a UK based bank
i also see the domain name is for sale, which i'd call a red flag

I just got an e-mail from them as well, they somehow knew my name, e-mail and some of my address, which seems extremley suspicious

I guess we can remove my paranoia as an option because something is very fishy here. Let's put our heads together and find out what the fuck is going on.

I believe emails have been stolen and/or sold from the Attitude. I also have been told that it is possible Highlife is getting info by matching emails to Facebook. If you have matching info in your Facebook I would take care of that ASAP.

Hey what a coincidence, I myself received an email from some seed company but it was under my spam folder, I deleted it without opening it... hmm this is a bit fishy.....

On a side note I don't have the email linked to facebook so it can be that....... I only ordered from attitude, nirvana, and peakseedsbc......

if attitude actually sold personal info, i'd think they understand that they would be throwing away their business
which seems unlikely, but there was some large hack of a company that had a lot of personal info, think they handle financial transactions, much used by many businesses
the name 'eclipse' comes to mind, wondering if this is the source

EDIT: actually, there was company called 'Epsilon' which handles email transactions for a number of companies, employee had been dipping into the email database, but not sure if they had any relation with attitude

i got one too. I didn't click on any links though. looks like i'll be deleting my info from the attitude. on another note, it seems that there is a bigger company behind highlife. This thing called seed bank news is the one sending it out, i think. look at the email again

Hmmm not from Attitude. I got 2 emails at 2 different addresses. Attitude only knows 1 of them but Nirvana knows both of them. Did you guys all order from Nirvana?

im betting on the sold the info. its common practice, though it should be illegal. Id never order from Attitude if they are selling my personal info. and if they are unsecure enought to protect my info, then that to disolves them out of my order futures.

I got the exact same mail so i opened this site and i noticed that there was an online assistant operator at that time, so i asked him where did he found my email, name and address from and he told me that they have a variety of sites, forums and seed selling websites that belong to their business group and they never rent, share or distribute personal data.
I then asked him to name a few of those sites cause the only web sites i've used is rollitup and the attitude. He told me that he is just an online operator and doesn't really know such information, but he will get back to me after talking about this with a supervisor and asked me t give him my email, which i did. I also told him that if no sufficient explanations are provided i will sue them.

It seems Attitude is behind all this, as i have never used this address mentioned in the highlife seeds mail anywhere else, not in a single online order.

Likeliest scenario here is that Attitude are the owners of Highlife Seeds and are trying to give their brand a quick leg-up by spamming Attitude customers. Not quite as shady as some people are suggesting on here (REALLY can't see Attitude are selling people's personal info, given that would smash their reputation to bits and given they already make a shit ton of money as it is, or that they have some 'rogue employees' on some KGB shit with customers info), but still more than a little underhand and definitely not something they should be doing!
