Highest-paid CEOs run worst-performing companies, research finds

Makes zero difference. Even if the company goes belly up, the CEO still gets a golden parachute and lands in a soft pillow of cash. Why? Because he's on the boards of the same people who are on his board, and they all happily collude on each other's salaries forever after!

Great gig if you can sucker people into hiring your cronies onto their boards.

Who loses? Only those poor sods down there on the shop floor who actually did the work to build the company. They get the shaft every time! But you know- they're losers. The Chump said so.
Actually a lot more people get hurt. Think of all the poor bastards with 401Ks and IRAS that stupidly invested in mutual funds without knowing that the mutual fund managers were buying Valeant with both hands.

It's crimes like these going unpunished that destroy the fabric of our country.

not with shareholders bitching about low or no profits. ceo's don't make the rules, shareholders do.
money stacking is the game. stop giving them yours to play with or put your faith in some fucking politician to fix things.

or buy enough stock that you have some juice which most folks don't have

there's no getting around the fact that if you shut off the money faucet, sooner or later shit changes. it's all we have left

example: chrysler just announced they're not building cars in the u.s. any more, just trucks and suvs . solution: stop buying their shit. chrysler products are shit anyway so why not hurt their profitable lines by refusing to buy? let the mexicans buy their cars

buy you're partly right and it might take years but america is populated with dumbfucks that will keep buying and keep putting their faith in some twat politician. meanwhile, we're all watching bernie taking it deep like the good ho he turned out to be .

corps don't exist without profits so choke the fucks slowly

i know for a fucking fact they won't be getting my $

Most people buy mutual funds. It allows it to happen.

That says more about your judgment than it does about anything else. I know if I paid a guy $80 for a couple hours worth of work, I wouldn't be complaining about the quality

Are you fucking serious? Over 50 bucks an hour to pull weeds and a few pieces of garbage and I should be happy with what I get?

No wonder this country is filled with so many who can't even pay their own fucking bills. Half assery doesn't make a living wage.

I hope your answer is not banning mutual funds. Diversified savings is still the best way to save for retirement. Teeth in laws to hold the board of directors responsible for their actions is necessary. Also elimination of those golden parachutes that practically incentivize CEOs to fail badly enough to get fired and trigger them is another. This is all evolutionary and not revolutionary change.

Once a founder dies and "elite" MBAs take control, the companies drift into Wall Street methods to "extract value", a concept which I believe is the fundamental flaw in our corporations. I can see possible benefit in changing how corporations are controlled without a living founder in charge. Perhaps placing majority control in the hands of long term employees or unions might change things in a more revolutionary way.

I will never get over the previous CEO of Home Depot. Home Depot was huge and buildings going up all over the place and making money hand over fist. Then they hire this CEO that turns it into a nose dive. Within a couple of years Home Depot was horrible, so they fire this CEO and give him a 325 million dollar severance.

That's what happens when corporate oversight is deregulated. Amongst many other terrible things corporations get away with because of deregulation.

What a whinger. Very much like your antipathy to pump jockeys in Oregon who you pissed off enough so that they were "careless" about gas spilling onto the paint of your junker truck. I'm willing to bet the yard work guy got a belly full of your guff and made sure you were unhappy with his work. I bet he even left a dump somewhere for you to find later. I've had help with yard chores and have always gotten fair work for fair pay. 25 years living in Oregon and I've never had a problem with a pump jockey either. It's not always about the money.

Face it Spandy, you are a jerk and you bring out the worst in people.
