high wattage CFL?

has anyone ever used any high wattage CFLs like85w/300 or 105w/500w incandescent equiv. im about to buy some around $20 a piece i figure 2 85w cfls will kill. they come in a 6500k and 3000k so 2 of each, little more expensive than normal cfl setup.... any thoughts? dont need that much??
 
how many plants/ how big of a grow area are you using?...a buddy of mine is using an 85 watt....it's pretty bitchin!...the more light the better...

i have 4 right now under 4 42w cfls, they are about 8 days old. i plan on taking some clones and going with a lst setup. lol im gonna train it in a spiral around the pot, hopefully...

i just found out that these stupid cfls i have now are 5100k, i suppose thats ok but i keep seeing that 6500k and hellof wattage is best for veg. specially when training
 
definitely go big if you have the room the more light the better im using 6 4' 40 watt bulbs with 3200k on 6 plants and they are looking great

i had just read that a plant doesn't absorb much light frok 5000-5100K...you might want to go with a 6500k
 
also check cus higher wattage bulbs like that dont always have a built in ballast u need a seperate on so check on that too

i use a 200w envirolight, its puts out like 13000 lumen, but it also gets pretty warm...
