Back in the 70's I helped break down a kilo of brick weed a couple times, the kind with the pink paper wrapper. There were buds but they were half seeds. Being in California we would get some home grown sinsemilla (American Spanish for without seeds). I guess it was some kind of landrace Sativa, the smell would give you the munchies. I would LOVE to get some beans of that strain. Some was probably coming from the Emerald Triangle in Nor Cal and some was locally grown. Columbian Gold was good stuff but still half seeds. The smoke grown in Oaxaca had a different flavor but was really nice also, not as many seeds. The dude that I bought from had two different qualities of Thai Sticks, one was about as thick as a little kids pencil and wouldn't fit in a baggie unless it was on a diagonal, the other had been pressed into bricks and had a lot less weed on it. He had quantities of honey oil of unknown origin that would help clear out your lungs because it would expand so much. I was never a fan of blond hash, but the black hash was my favorite, you could roll it into a little ball and it would stick to your fingers.
ANYWAY, the brick weed I could smoke all day and not be couch bound, but the other strains, and of course the concentrates, were a lot more potent and had a much nicer smell and taste. Edit: Brick weed was $10 oz (lid) Oaxacan was $30, Columbian Gold was $40, and since buds were $60/oz.
