High Times 1977 Winners!

I'm of the thought that too many wanna be breeders have done more harm than good with all the crosses and that there hasn't been improvement. Just like tomatoes tasting like shit, because they breed for the wrong reasons, yield yield yield.

I wonder why new cultivars are testing higher than ever before then.

Not 68 but close enough and I don't agree, I don't see 10X better as far as the high. Used to have more seeds than weed though. Still love that smell though.

I don't really care about the % of THC. I don't mind smoking a little more if the flavor and high are awesome. But to answer your question, I think better growing practices are a big part. no seeds, better lights etc. Better handling. shit is protected like they are faberge eggs these days. I never knew what the % of weed was growing up. It was good or not.

I disagree. I don't think growing techniques have improved that much in the past 15 years, however the THC percentages have. 15 years ago 22% THC weed would be a cup winner. Now a days 22% is considered average.

Other than smoking less what does more THC do for you though? I drink the beer which tastes good, not the one with the most %. I am perfectly happy with 22%. I'll just smoke the whole joint instead of leaving a little.

I think I got higher then. But back then in my area you made it last. Not very available. Now I'm a burned out old man.
Nah, you're still pretty sharp.

I'm guessing that stringy commercial Mexican seed weed circa 1970 was around 3% THC.

I remember seeing lbs. that had male and female plants in them. What did you expect for $75 a pound though, right?

Only thing that was better was mid '70's Thai Sticks that were known to be opiated. So the buzz wasn't all THC.

Most of the shit we got in the 60's was too young, rarely had flowers; hell remember we thought the fan leaves were the bomb. The occasional lid that did have flowers was exceptional and of course we'd think we got a hold of Acapulco gold ot Pan red lol.
But ya, the ceilingless high of the old stuff was fantastic; there was no limit to it
