Hey y'all. Been lurking on RIU for a few years, learning, failing, getting better, and finally harvesting something pretty damn good from a super small grow space in a cabinet under my workbench. An engineer and gadget geek at heart, I made my own PLC controlled setup for fert injection, feeding, draining, lights (my own DIY COBs using Vero29s,) and ventilation to try and make it as automatic as possible. Well, the automation was good, but the plants sure did require a lot of care and training to fit in the space, so it was very much a hands on affair. Looking forward to a bigger grow space (2x2 tent?) and hopefully, soon, freedom from worrying about Mr. Law since I live right opposite a school in a 'drug free school zone...'

I can relate, my first grow was in a 2x2x6 shelf built in that I pulled the shelves out of and squeezed a 400w MH light into, this was about 1997 and I remember emailing with Marc Emery and getting some really good seeds from him, cfl’s were pretty new at the time but I got one to start plants under. My first harvest was full of seeds because I didn’t pull the males soon enough, but it was fun and we still consumed some good weed. I broke every rule in the book and still made it work. I’ve grown in places that were too hot, too cold, too small, but I guess I like the challenge.

If you can find space the 2x4 secret jardin does a nice job. I use the Solar Xtreme 500 for light. Real dark and ventilates well.
