Hey White Widow growers!!!!need advice for good harvest time please!!!

got no pics sorry but I figure I am about a week away from harvest...maybe....first grow so not sure.about 20-30% of pistil hairs are red and receding and I got about a 50/50 ratio of amber and milky trichomes.If I go by tric's then they seem ready now,but seems that I have a lot of hairs going on still.should I wait longer for the hairs to turn more or is this common with WW? am I risking losing THC?
 
CHOP.....any longer and you're gonna be overdone. Trichs going amber is when the THC starts to lower and the other cannaboids start being there in higher doses. Don't plan on going anywhere when you smoke that shit. That's gonna be couchlock central.
 
well now that I've been reading I'm second guessing the 50% originally stated.Iv'e read that this may be inaccurate if your only looking at the sugar leaves which may be where I was getting my numbers.I'll have to check again being sure to look in the right spots.How do the hairs look when you chop though.?Is it a big deal to chop when there are so many white hairs left?That guy is pretty big there,wow!Mine are indoor and 3 out of 4 are topped.the topped ones colas are about the thickness of a pop can for a good 8-10 inches up the branch and the untopped has a nice mass of bud kinda like yours but not quite that big haha.not bad for my first grow tho I'm thinkin....
 
plus I thought it was bad to have ANY clear and to have a good ratio of amber and milky trichomes.I know I read it somewhere but can't recall the source.....

Its not bad to have clear trichs, the high is just more heady with more clear. The more amber, the more overpowering the high gets. I let my WW go until the buds look golden from a distance and still find clear trichs, usually around 10 weeks, but I think they could go another week.
 
sweet, am just approaching week 8 which is what everything is telling me for flower time.One really was a late bloomer and is still way behind,one has that golden look to it you speak of and the best overall bud size,smell,...cosmetically appealing,this will be my new mommy if the smoke is good.One of them is super,super hairy and dank smelling.also a good candidate for mom but seems to have some sort of foliar disease.tiny yellow spots starting from the stem in the middle spreading outward to the rest of the leaf????and # 4 is another good all around plant.So 10 weeks for your widow huh?K good to know!!
 
but if you have other smaller bud site that are still able to grow just cut your ones that are ready and let the others go longer till the get more amber ive done this outdoors with mine with no problems

Ya I might have to do that...those babies look good for sure.I wish I could throw some pics up myself as I am aching to show SOMEONE my progress haha.I think for my first grow I have done great.I guess my confusion is,when I look at the sugar leaves I see quite a few amber trichs.Peering deeper into the bud tho there is a lot of clear...tricky process man!I guess go with your gut and learn from your mistakes is the only real way to go.How far from harvest are those pics man....a week???more?In 3 days I will be at 8 weeks exactly...
 
ohh luckily mine are only 5 weeks in soo i got alot of time for more growing and since adding the 1000w well lets say kaaaabooom lol just go with your gut what ive always done when in real doubt

I havent had the space to try it yet, but Ive heard that if you put your plant in total darkness for 3 days before you harvest, it makes them even more crystally. And at least 10 weeks for the sativa phenos is a must IMO, the indica phenos may be ready at 8 weeks, but mine is sativa.

Ya thats the plan actually,3-4 days of dark before I chop.On further inspection today,most of the amber tric's are just on the sugar leaves.looking farther in you can see milky,clear and a few starting to go amber so I am gonna go off of that I guess.I guess about 4 -5 days maybe.I just fed them though...hopefully it doesnt ruin my bud by not flushing properly.I hear lots of people say it doesnt really matter though.
 
I was told to go 80% amber on WW. You may have more than 4-5 days unless youre just really wanting to harvest. Id say 5 or 6 days then go dark for 3 or 4 days. And a good flush will give you whiter ash and less chemicals left in your buds. Taste is about the same to me though whether flushed or not but the ashes and how well it actually burns is better flushed.

haha,that is pretty much exactly the little plan I came up with somedude!...4-5 days more,then 3-4 days dark.that will give me a couple of solid flushes still to....sweeet thanx man!!!
