Hey everybody! I just wanted to stop in and say 'hi'. I just started about a month and a half ago now, and things seem to be going well. After reviewing some things, I could do some things different, but all is going well. I can't complain. A friend of mine gave me a book almost as old as I am that I'v been using as a guide.
I'm torn on whether or not to top my plants, there is a big difference of opinion between my book and this site. By the time I got here, I had topped 5 out of 6. I left the last one so I could see the difference.
I started with about 30 babies (most meant for outdoors), and I kept my favorites for the house. One is very bizzare. I again had to keep an odd ball for the sake of knowledge. I had one come up with 3 first round leaves instead of 2. It still hasn't sprouted anything that has more than 3 on its leaf spread, and it has white spots on some of it's leaves. Like birth marks, not disease.
It has been very cool and interesting. I'v never tried to even grow a house plant, much less something of this magnitude. I feel very fortunate considering some of the stories I'v read.
