Hermie?

First of all apology for the LED light on picture, I didnt realize there's a rule here about turning off the LED when taking pic. Unfortunately, I've disposed the source of my problem thus cant take picture under a better lighting condition.

So here goes....My experience with hermie is that it looks like a banana sticking out but this morning, I found this ...

Is this a male bud? It does look like a regular bud but it got me concern because there is no pistil in it plus its way ahead of the other buds.

If its a female with seed, I dont see any dried up pistil or sign of pollination. The plant itself is just 4 weeks of 12/12. I do see some buds swelling but all of them have pistils except for this giant bud. So far this is the only one and i did plucked it and throw it away.

Appreciate any advice/opinion.

Hard to tell from the pic, but it looks pointy, like a pistil should have been coming out of it. Balls don't get the pointy tip.

I know right, was thinking the same thing but to err on the side of caution i took it off. Looks like a bud on steroid. lol

If it's a calyx, hope they all stacked up like that in size. lol

Maybe if I see more of that kind I'll leave it alone and see where it goes. Thanks man

Well it's definitely a calyx

I see a few more of this

plant is starting its 5th week of 12/12.

Question is...should I be concern that these are pollinated calyxes, if so what should I do? As far as male flower is concern, I haven't seen any nor there's any male plant around.

Anybody have experience with this? Please advise.

Thank you

I've never seen this happen before. So, if they are not fertilized, I've read that high amount of CO2 (combined with good light) can swell up a calyx pretty good.

I've also read that each calyx is independent in terms of development and growth. I always thought a cluster develop in uniform.

Crossing my fingers that it's normal. :bigjoint:

Ty Hillbill for the suggestion.

Wish I can get a closeup pic of it. Yeah, the calyx is covering an oblong shape green mash. Cant tell by the shape if its a seed or what not. If it is a seed, wouldn't it be more like round in shape? Also, if it is a seed, how did it get pollinated? I've looked closely every cluster and i dont see any hermie.

The plant itself is a bagseed. Could it mean that the source plant is a hermied plant? Hermie can be inherited from seed right?

lol. Sorry I'm getting confuse, so many questions to ask

Also, I have 2 plants, same source seeds but this is the only one that's showing big bud swelling, the other plant is just normal bud growth.

I think, I've just found the answer to this problem. I'm not sure if its okay to put up the link to another forum.

In a nut shell, a guy was complaining about what look like a tiny "green seed" inside his calyx (I bet that calyx was swelling up pretty good)

In summary, another poster advised that all calyxes have tiny green seed inside, "only when a calyx is pollinated" will that green seed matures to what we know what a seed looks like.

The cool thing about it, that guy, have a USB microscope and showed what a tiny green seed looks like. Pretty cool.

If pollinated the seed will swell and stretch the casing. Hermies can be near impossible to spot at times. If seeded you will know in very few days. A real seed will be very firm, almost hard and growing bigger quickly. Good luck!
Those look like seeds.
