What the hell is this pod looking thing? A seed!? First grow, clueless. Strain is DinaFem Critical Jack, 44 days old. Please help! (I'm hoping its just normal bud growth)

No balls there dude, got the same plant( if yours is an auto) about 10 days older, have a few of those lower on the plant, all with hairs sticking out. The last plant I grew had a couple of them as well. I think they are bud sites that never quite developed.

calyx is the correct spelling and is a sure sign of female. that is where the seed is produced, if it were fertilized. the buds are basically a mass of calyx's

i looked it up on the dinafem website. they say between 70-80 days

Yea That looks like a good female preflower, If your whole plant isnt flowering right now and you have those around. It is a preflower. The hairs getting darker means that the preflower is aging. When you start 12/12 you will get those calyxs all over. That is what your bud is buddy! All plants will preflower, if left in over 12 hours of light long enough to reach maturity before you switch to 12/12.
