Hermie question

yesterday i cut down a 2 foot plant, my biggest one, because i confirmed it to be a hermie. today someone told me that i could have just cut the male parts off as they appeared. is this true and if so couldnt you accidently pollenate the girls trying to cut the male parts off? this is my first grow. i had 9 plants but only have 3 now cause 5 of them were male and then i had the one hermie. the hermie was my biggest one and it killed me to chop it down.

when you chopped it you should have taken it outside and taken the smokable material there.
but dont remove pollen sacks anywhere near females.
always remove hermies and males from the grow room as soon as they become apparent.
