If a plant is hermaphroditic does that mean ALL the seeds from that plant will produce hermaphroditic plants? Does the amount of times you clone from a clone from a clone....eventually lead to a hermaphroditic plant?
i don't think anyone really knows. they will all tell you that hermy seeds are bad. if hermy seeds are bad then how did i get hijack and raft?
hijack......
raft......
i've cloned clones from clones but i don't know how many generations. i may have gone 3 or 4. i've heard of A LOT more. i have not seen any ill effects personally.
I often wondered the same thing. I don't think all of them will be hermies, and I think it depends on whether you have a genetic hermie or a hermie that was born of stress. I would have to think that a genetic hermie would have a high percentage to be hermie if it's mommy was one. It carries the gene, at least I would think it would.

Not all of them would be hermie, but a large percentage would be. Or rather there is a much greater chance of getting hermie seeds from a hermie, than there is of getting a hermie from a normal male and female pollination. Plants like people carry genes, some are dominant some are recessive, so a seed from a hermie mother has a greater chance to be a hermie and also carry the hermie gene even if it doesn't turn out to be a hermie itself it will pass the gene on. I would not reccomend hermie seeds unless you have a lot of time and reasources to waste. Although it would be a cool experiement to see how many out of ten would be hermies.
FDD had a good post earlier when I say hermie I mean a genetic hermie not a stressed plant that herms.
Here's FDDs thread for an example of a true hermie and a stressed one or intersex plant
