Hermaphrodites: Causes

i have been sick since I got back from my trip, and I haven't spent much time in the garden. I have several huge plants, and I check here and there for signs of males balls. All my plants are in flower, some further along than others, but all flowering.

What causes hermies? I've heard stress, a lady in the Frost thread said frost caused hers to turn hermie.

If my plants are fat and green and healthy, do I have anything to worry about?

Thanks in advance for sharing your brain. :-)

Crap Genetics, Light Leaks, Stress. Lots of things can do it. Keep on the look out for nanners as well.

imho . genetics mostly. specially when it happens outside . inside could be a light leak because of unstable genetics. stress imho with stable genetics should not hermie. I have had strains that hermie/nanners inside grow fine outside every time.
chances are you wont have any problems but like adower says its always something you pay attention to. sometimes you can tell before male pollen sacks show because the plant starts growing funny or different then the other plants. elongated top shoots, funny looking leafs and the flower isn't very dense. Generally one could tell from a distance that the plant is looking "funny" . LOL

Im sure your fine this far along.

I would have to agree with the info above as long as you don't put them into any serious stress issues they should be fine if there looking healthy at this point in the year already. Good luck

Heres some food for thought .

What is stress to a plant besides under nourishment ? lack of water ?
That would cause hermaphroditism
climate ? They grow from 50 F to 115 f fairly fine. my summers are 100 +
broken branches ? I have broke plenty and it happens in nature
Topping , LST , super cropping . I have never seen this to be the cause. I took the hedge trimmers to my green house in 2nd week of flower and was fine

Pretty hard to stress a plant out, specially when they don't have feelings.:eyesmoke:

Oh my girls do have feelings and there the the only feelings I seem to care about lol. I've personally never had an issue with herms I've had people who lived close enough to me with gardens that didn't wana cut there losses with bad plants that ended up causing me some serious grief which was a bummer
