So I decided to move over here to the Hydro section seeing that seems to be where the hempy folks hang out mainly. lol. I had plans for a perpetual op with my UC but I'm just sick of dealing with so much water all the time. Had plans then for a vertical flooded tube like Heath but thought it through and it was really no better than the UC in the fact that it still was moving a lot of water. So if I ever plan on doing more of a active hydro system again then it will be lp aero just like when I started out long ago. lol.
Here's a pic of some of the bud I harvested off my Aurora. It's only been curing for a week now so still fresh. In all it turned out to be some good bud. Smooth, great taste, and good high. Nice dense buds as well no matter if its popcorn or bud. I ended up pulling 6.5oz off of her. I know I could have did better if she didn't suffer from lock out which was my own fault. She got flushed for only a week and chopped a week early. Didn't check trichomes either hairs where pretty red and receding for the most part when i chopped anyway.
For now though I am going to just run with what took off for me in the beginning seeing its low start up cost's which would be coco/perlite mix. I've done some experimenting with straight perlite, air pots, and a flood table. There just beginning flower now so we'll see what happens. 300w LED in there for right now for the stretch will hopefully have a 400w hps in there soon.
Strains are: Aurora Indica and one in bottom right corner is Blue Widow.
Here's my 4x8 tent with a 3x6 flood table. I have a phantom 400w hps in there along with 325w of CFL.
Strains are: Blue Widow, Purple Wreck, Strawberry Cough, Cheese Quake, Sour Blueberry, Cannalope Kush.
Flowering tent consists of a 1k watt HPS, XXXL Hood with no Glass. 450 cfm intake split between the two tents. Also a 400cfm exhaust and scrubber which isn't needed or running at the moment. Only when they get stinky.
As you can tell I defoliated my plants in different stages during veg, then again before flower, and after the two week stretch. I want to get it straight that I don't go cutting leaves off at any ole' time and do it all the time. I do it during veg to create a bushier smaller plant for either more cuttings or more bud sites. I then do it before flower so any possible bud site as light to come up and at the end of the two week stretch because they will fill in so much and cover a lot of bud sites as again. Then that's it. I let her grow and do her thing.
I am not a big person on a specific nute company. I like to try different things and get the best for money. I run Dyna-Grow, Bloom, General Hydroponics Maxi-Grow, Bloom. I ran floralicious from GH last round. This round I'm trying Sweet Raw, and some liquid Budswell.
I think I'm just going to make the switch back to Botanicare to go organic some what anyway. I really look for great taste and aroma. Of course a great high is a benefit too.
