Hempy Question.

Starting getting ready for my first grow today and I plan on using hempy buckets with 100% perlite. I've also decided to use clones over seeds since I can get them easily through a reliable source so should be safe from pests. Just wondering if I can put the clone right into the hempy or if I should start in a small pot or solo cup first? Thanks.

I would start with the clones in Solo hempys first.

Let them develop a nice little root system, a good stem, and then straight into your final bucket.

The seedling will come in a medium like soil or rock wool, If it's Rock wool just put into your Hempy mix.
If it's in soil, well I don't know, maybe gently rinse away soil and plant in hempy.
Better Ask the Soil and Hempy Growers for that info.
I'm just spit ballin.:blsmoke:

My seedlings spend 5 days in a 3x3 rockwool cube under cfl and then straight into a 3.5 gallon bucket and put under a 600

I would put it into your hempy bucket right away, even if it's in soil, as a soil core works very well in hempy as you don't need to worry about nutes too soon

If you are using a large bucket you will have to water often at first until it grows some roots into the reservoir...it will be a bit slow at first but will kick into gear in a week

Yep, I water every day for the first week in the big bucke right down the middle of the pot, my thoughts are I want a nice moist tunnel for the roots to follow down looking for water instead of out, week 2 I start watering the entire bucket. Works for me anyways. I also feed a weak nute solution right away also, never had a problem

exactly, but I do avoid pouring directly onto the rockwool/plug/soil cap.

BTW: I'm not preaching this method as it most certainly will be slower out of the gate than starting in a party-cup....but I hate transplanting, so I start in the final pot/bucket to avoid the stressing the plant ...and me.

I don't mind it taking a little longer to get started so I'll likely put it right into the bucket, does the soil or whatever medium it comes in just go right in with the perlite or should I remove the seedling from that? Thanks for the feed back.

Getting my buckets ready to start the grow, I just want to make sure my drain holes are going to be appropriate in size, I'm doing two buckets at 10.5L and another smaller one at 5.75L. The bucket in the picture is the smaller one, I am planning to use the same size on the larger bucket just higher up. Photoon2013-11-04at1256PM_zps1cf5a57b.jpg
