Hempy Pot Size vs Yield Question

So I have been studying Xare's 2L Hempy grow and I really think it would work well for my setup, but I am concerned with pulling less than 1 oz. per plant. I am wondering, If I switched from 2L to 3 Gallon Would that increase the plant size in the same amount of veg/flower time? It looks like to me (my very novice opinion) that Xare's plants are rootbound (although he definitely has this down to a science). Or would I be able to accomplish a hempy grow in air-pot bags filled with perlite/vermiculite 75%/25%? And have the bags sit in small plastic trays that come up about 2-in?

I have a 600w hps for flower and 300w t5ho for veg.

No one has experience with hempy? Seems like a legit EASY way to do it versus needing a lot of soil or having to constantly do reservoir changes in a larger system.

My hempys are doing great dude. perlite/magikmoss mix/ 50/50, Osmocote+/Dynamite ferts 50/50 400w lights.
had a problem with the hole clogging, i think the perlite was to fine, I added a piece of plastic drywall corner bead and draining fine. Ill be going 12/12 any day
so simple, just add water. good luck

My last few were Hempy grows, I have one going now with about 4 weeks to go. My opinion is it is legit. You can use almost any container that you have around the house. I have not done anything as small as 2L, so I can't speak to that. I Have used a Rubbermaid bucket, an old beach bucket, a little desk trash can and container that the cat litter came in. The 3:1 ratio is the mix that I use and I use GH Maxi series nutes. It doesn't get any easier. I also have an 18 gallon tote DWC/Aero hybrid system. The hempy is a good bit easier, you should give it a try, I don't think you will regret it.

Oops, sorry got off the main question. I think size might matter to an extent. It depends on how big you want your plant. My last grow was in 4 gl square buckets. The plants were no where root bound when I examined the roots after the grow. But I had one in 2 lt bottle that was so root bound you could hardly see any soil. It grew bushy but not very tall. I ended up moving it outside and it never really took off.
From all I have read 2 gl is the minimum size used. I think the air pots in a 2 inch reservoir would be ok too, but others I have seen using them say they dry out fast.

Prompt Reply Central: here’s roots from a slow grower that we whacked early.
