Hemp Hopped beer

I'm a homebrewer, and the homebrew forum doesnt allow this kinda talk so I figured I'd give it a go here.

Has anyone ever had beer that has been hopped with weed?

Im trying to figure out how much would be needed to make a 5 gallon batch. I know some of you are going to say thats a waste, but I wanna try it dammit! Let me know what you guys think, or if anyone has ever tried it.

i think that would be the most delicious beer ever created as i am a fan of skunky type beers anyhow! you could even use a heavy fruit strain like blueberry to give it some additional kick...

Any ideas on how much to use in a 5 Gallon batch to get a good amount of thc?

i havent the slightest idea... if you are going to be using it in place of hops you should just use however much hops you would normally use i would think...

I thought hops were put into beer to help preserve it (and for flavor to obviously) and I don't think marijuana would have the same effect. I am guessing it would take good if you used a decent strain but it could also just end up tasting grassy. I would just use however much hops you would use. When you make this please share how it tastes I am guessing it will not be bitter at all.

hops is actually very similar to marijuana but i dont really know much about brewing beer so im not sure of the role it plays, i bet if you search google you can find recipes for marijuana beer...

I wouldn't skip the hops. I would add it in addition. I have some experience with home-brewing. I'm guessing you would add the mj at the end, like dry-hopping?

dont skip the hops as ^^^ said.,.,theyre needed for taste and keep value,also taste just add the amount of powdered herb u want in the batch along with the hops.,.,.,i dont kno how this would work ive never brewed read up on it but 4got everything read,lol,go0d luck

exactly...as I understand it...THC is not soluble in water, but it is in alcohol. So dry hopping would be the only way to get the proper effect.

Normally I put 3oz of hops in a batch...Im thinking about putting 2oz of hops and 1oz of mj. Im hoping that will be enough.

Is this a 5 or 10 gallon batch? Let us know how it works out.

I also a home brewer and have thought about this many times. As far as the amount to add in..... for a 5 gal batch I would think you should add 5 ounces. One once per gallon. That would make it a very expensive brew. Let us know what you end up trying. I would like to follow this brew along.
