iv got a few problems my plants are about a foot growing hydro when should i start flowering? another is there bushy and there not all the same size i felt i should trim them but i have heard trim an not to trim i just dont know? i already topped one its looking good now i toped another i just need some wise advise is all dont be scared to post :blsmoke:
 
when to flower depends on you and on how much space you have

take into account that in flowering they add about 50% of their current size in average (and that can vary greatly by strain). so figure out how big you want them to be first.

topping and trimming is good when you're in veg. no harm will be done. it's good to have an even canopy, with plants at roughly the same height. another good (and even better) method to achieve this is to tie them down as you please.
 
ah no. it's called LST - low stress training. it's supposed to keep them down, rather than up :)

google and read :)
 
yea i have heard of it and my plants stem is way to thick now but next time ill give it a try, if you can think of any other tricks for higher yeild let me no
 
yep you can still LST - read about supercropping as well. it's a way to bend thick stems. combine that with LST and you'll get an excellent light exploiting canopy. No better way to go about it.

You beat us to it. Good information!
 
well that depends on the size of the plant. you could grow just one supermassive monster plant, or dozens of really small ones, it's really up to you. a 400w hps is said to efficiently cover an *area* of roughly 3X3 feet (perhaps a bit less than that).
 
they say it covers more than that an do you think it would be to much power goin if i had the 400 watt an ac a fan an two air pumps and one water pump cant remember what there called right now haha
 
i guess it will be alright security-wise... still not enough to get that unwanted attention i would reckon (but don't take my word for it).

other than that, it will probably cost a lot unless your a/c is really efficient... so your grow better be good to cover that
