Hello to all,

ok so im new here, i am not going to be doing my own grow until this time next year, so i have a year to take in and learn to my best knowledge i can about the process and hopefully have my first successful crop!.

Anyway a few quick Q's for starters,

sorry if they are already answered as i am on mobile phone and cant browse forum to well..

I am looking at buying a kit similar to this 1 and wondering what else i would need to proceed

from what i'm aware i will need another bulb, or maybe another full light?

also is this process about right,

  1. buy decent seeds for decent bud
  2. germinate seed in a paper towel or similar
  3. pop seed into plastic cup (dont think im going to use cubes)
  4. once sprouted place under light for 18-6
  5. once at desired height/size place under other light for flowering 12-12
  6. once grown and hairs are turning red harvest..

what else i would like to ask is how often do i feed/water, is it down to the soil and how thirsty it is? :confused:

Sorry for the long thread but i think the best way is to learn before i go ahead and grow.

look for a ballast that will run both MH and HPS bulbs that way ull just need to switch bulbs.And also plants will double or sometimes triple in size when flowering so leave yourself room when u switch and im sure u thought of this but ull need to take them out of the cups and into bigger pots.And also u cant go by hair color completely ull wanna look at the trichnomes and harvest when most are milky and amber not clear unless u want less of a couch lock most strains need 8 to 10 weeks of flowering

cool so, if i get myself a balast that powers both types i pretty much ready with the right pots/medium/seeds/nutes, thats a good looking one you have going there, hopefully mine will be like that some day :) ..

yep and if ur just growing from seed id just put the seeds in ur big pot right away after it germs so u dont gotta transplant

really all u need is a nutes seeds and another bulb it looks like the kit in ur link only has 1 ull want MH for veg and HPS for flower.Nutes are up to u really i used technaflora reciepe for success kit on my 1st grow and my following grows as its easy to use and comes with everything u need for like 50 bucks...i have add some others into my lineup as i went along but its a good start

Ok thanks again TPB, I have another 1 for yah tho :D... Can you explain all the nutes i need. Pretty much what they do and when i need to use them, sorry for all the questions i have just under a year until i can set up my grow so until then i want to learn as much as poss.

well if u go with that kit itll have everything u need to start but nutes usually have a basic part A for Veg part B for flower and then some other thing with more specfic uses.
Like heres what i use im not saying its the best or anything but it does work well for me.

Now i also have a 10-0-0 nitrogen nute AN OverDrive and XXXtreme uptake
overdrive is a bloom enhancer and the xxxtreme is suppose to allow your plants to uptake more nutes...its my 1st time with both those products so well see.
I bought the nitrogen because i had a strain that needed more as u get a ferw grows under u ull start to be able to read what ur plants need better
