So here is the story, I got a walk in closet, I painted the walls white, i layed down plastic sheating covering the floor, I have a plastic tub, i have two 6inch diamter clay pots one hole at the bottom, I have regular soil with perlite mixed in no fertilizer, I ordered stimulants online, i have water ph at 7.0 and i have a flou light but i orderd an HPS....I germinated my seeds by putting them in a cup of water under a black beenie on a heating pad in a dark room....this seemed to work they split and the white root tip was exposed....this is where i am having my problems....I think i am watering too much or i am putting the seed too deep I cant seem to get a straight explanation from anyone... I tried soaking the soil i tried wet soil bottom half of pot with dry on top....i just dont know hat to do after my seeds split, should i just drop them in dry dirt spary the top with a water sprayer and leave the seed exposed just in a whole or do i cover that with dirt, shoudl my soild be har packed down or lightley tossed in? and finally once i put it in should i immidiatley start 24 hr light untill i breaks ground.....oh yea so should i just sprinl;e a little dirt over it and then spray insead of leaving it open air?

After they sprout pick them up with tweezers (try not to get skin oil on them it may kill them) put them into a finger deep hole in whatever potting medium you are using sprout end up if possible ( I used Miracle Gro Potting Soil). cover the seedling up LOOSELY with surrounding dirt. water till it leaks out of pot bottom. put it on a 18/6 cycle and LEAVE IT ALONE. Most new guys ( and I'm a victim of this, too) drown them by overwatering at first. I know they're pretty when they first pop thru the soil, but let mother nature take care of her own. when the top of the soil is dry then and only the nmay you water. in a few days (for me it was 2), the seedling should be poking thru the soil.from here look up on other areas in here, these people can tell you much more than I know. Good Luck and stay green!

So right when I see the little white tip start to come out i put in dirt right? is that what you mean by sprouting? and also it doesnt seem to drain so i just dampened it and covered it with plastic wrap and turned the light on over it....... now i will just wait and hopefully something will come up out of the dirt.....hird times a charm for this batch hopefully haha

Yes when the white thingy first pops out (it's called 'germination') wait until it's about 1/8 inch long (a day more?) then with tweezers place it gently into your grow medium, sprout UP, loosely cover w/ dirt, water till it pools on top (saturation) and let it be. That's it keep it on a 18/6 or a 24/0 light schedule. when it first pops thru the dirt. water it again lightly, NO FERTILIZERS FOR 2 WEEKS! It is a baby, it needs to adjust to its new home, if you fert it now it may die. It is 'shocked' and needs time. every time you transplant your plant is shocked and may take a few days to re-adjust (slowed or no growth)

in rereading your post you mention plastic. It's not over the dirt is it? If so REMOVE at once! your plant needs air! covering dirt will allow mold and all sorts of nasty things to grow, least of which will be your seedling.
The only time you use plastic is germination when you first place seeds under a damp cloth to 'sprout' you may at this time use plastic for a cover. but when they are transplanted into dirt, no more plastic! let mother nature take her course. be patient, in a few days (my plants took two!) it will poke thru the dirt. Congrats you are now a new parent! Take care of your babies and they will take care of you. water and nurture...

a finger deep hole???make sure the soils fairly loose, make a hole about a cm and a half -2 cm deep, plant the seed root down, lightly sprinkle some soil over it,pat it down gently, spray the soil till the tops wet the put under a light and leave it.
