Looks like it could be over watering.

Post some specifics on your set up so it easier to do a process of emilimination.

I am using the Waterfarm hydro system. the system came with the three nutrient bottles: grow, micro, and bloom. one of the guys at my hydro store first told me to not use the bloom nutrient at first until i want it to start flowering but now i found out that i am supposed to use all the nutrients no matter what, could that be the problem?

man dont use any they are to young for nutrients try plain water and less water theyt look burnt and drowned

okay i just changed the water, now with plain water and set it so they wont get as much water now, so hopefully they will recover

Judging by the picture, you are only a couple days into growing... So definitely lay off the nutes... You shouldn't need them for atleast a couple weeks, then introduce them slowly.

As for the plant itself... Seems like it is just in early stages of veg growth... It doesn't have any true leaves yet... bongsmilie

That first set can be weird looking, they don't just start coming out as the steriotypical pot leaf, they get to that in the 2nd or 3rd node. I bet in 48 hours you will be remarking about how big it is. =) All part of the experience.

Lookin' good though. Good luck! bongsmilie

just a note, some plants are just retarded looking. in a six pot bubbleponics system i have one that is just shriveled looking almost all over while every other plant is healthy and large. the one that is shriveled is still growing just fine though. definitely lay off the nutes though for at least a week or so. then you only use the grow during veg stage and bloom in flower stage. you use micro with each of those in their respective stage.

topher - thank you that was very helpful/

hater - thanks also, and on the nutrient bottles it says use all 3 nutrients in the stages, even the bloom in the veg stage. so just use grow and micro when i start using nutrients again?

No problem! And yes, save the big bloom for flowering.bongsmilie

i had trouble with my dripper bucket system, my rocks didnt lift the plant high enough and the drips splashed on the plant, and it cause it to be way overwated. if your dripper isnt close to the hydroton it might be doin the same thing. good luck

well my plant has been growing extremely slow even though i have just been given it straight water and not overwatering. would it be better if i start over?
