here's a pic to better understand what i'm talking about

now this one has about 3-6 leaves per leaf (bear with me) now these plants were given to me by a friend at birth.
i left them on my roof where they would get optimal sunlight. but now the days are getting shorter and colder, i think i may be forced to continue growth idoor.
all summer long they grew, and grew. i didn't do absolutely anything to them but water then every other day. or every 2 days.

description: aprox. 2 feet tall and wide. leaves are light to dark green in the middle and smells awesome. some of the edges of the leaves on the bottom are burnt and dead. is it male? idk? *shrugs*

so just today i noticed that this plant has little balls of green at the tops, they look like the size of a "bb" pellet. i think it's the budding process. (i know, i know... Duh)

so is there anything specific i should be doing? keeping in mind that i'm not the richest man on earth... i'm worried that this is a male plant. but i'm no weedoligist. which is why i came here. to get some help and answers. well thanks for reading my crap. and i hope i get some good help!

Yo samurai... That plant is in some bad shape.. But can be saved

1. like you said... you need to find out if it is male or female. Does it have white hairs?
can you take a close up picture that is CLEAR..

2. it needs to be transplanted into a 3 gallon container.

3. It is either a MALE. or it is not getting adequate light.

Before you put to much effort into saving it you need to know if it is male.

Can you switch the lighting to 12/12? DO THIS NOW..

Do not over water....

well i think it's still early to tell. however i visited a friends house yesterday and he showed me a plant that was in fact a male. it was about 2 1/2 ft. tall (outdoor) and i took a good look at to see if mine will do that. i woke up this morning and looked at it. and i think it's a male. i don't however see any white hairs. but theres one leaf with 7 fingers, 1 level below the "budding" or w/e it is. i can't ake a close up cause i have no idea how to manually controll the focus on this damn camera... but thanks for the help. appreciated. :)

I don't see any sign of flowering yet. If you see some small balls, hanging like little bunches of grapes, then that is the male flower. Your plant is suffering because it was outside in the bright, and now it's not. Once it gets used to the sun, it's tougher to get healthy growth from artificial light. Your best bet is to leave it outside.

HTH

well thats what i did, i'm leaving it outside.

a friend looked at my baby today, and said it's starting "sex organs" so i just need to give it more time

"now these plants were given to me by a friend at birth."

you've had these since you were an infant?
i'm confused

It'll take a minute for the "white hairs" to show out of the teardrop shaped ovarian calyx that they will eventually pop out of on top, if it is a female... If it is a male the early signs of your sex organs will resemble a vegetative-claw of sorts, then a pod on the stick, then 'naners, and by then u better be getting it out of your garden, because he's getting ready to open up his pollen sacks and fuck your ladies, like BAM! So, thatz what u need to be looking for... Itz really tough to tell at the very beginning stages, so don't be too quick to make a rash decision, I have had some in past times I thought for sure were the beginnings of a male preflower, and lo-they turned out to be females, with the white pistils and all, so patience and attention to detail my man...
