HELP With this Ventilation Setup!

Hey all, I also posted this question in the GR Design section, hopefully I dont get punished for double posting :-P Anyhow I've been trying to figure this out for a while, and I don;t want to order more stuff than I actually need!

Right now this is the equip. I've got:
6" Hydrofarm Daystar Reflector
600w HPS & 600w MH Digilux bulbs
600w Lumatek digital ballast
Secret Jardin DR150 (4'11" x 4'11" x 6'7")
Vortex 6" powerfan

Now what I'm trying to figure out is how many fans I'm going to need? I already have one 6" Vortex, thanks all!

well, while they are vegging i was planning on using no filter, and then when needed adding the phresh filter

that 6 inch fan should be all you need for extraction, unless you want an intake aswell? connect it to your coolshade and connect your filter to the other end and extract through your light! job done.
whats the cfm of that fan? also you want an oscillation fan aswell.

Thanks Robsterb. That's what I was thinking but I kept seeing other places that were saying I needed 2 fans, one for my light and one for exhaust, anyhow thanks for clearing that up!
I think I might hook up 2 inline Booster fans to the intake slots just to "boost" it?

yes that will work for intake, by the looks of it your vortex fan is 449 cfm which is more than enough to cool your light down and extract your tent at the same time! good look

Check out the CFM numbers from the fan manufacturer. And then just do the math

I think one fan should be enough

the inline fans are great. just hooked one up to my 400w cool tube intake and has given me a much more stable temperature so far.

Even while vegging those things are going to smell man. I had the same plan in mind but only being on week 2 from seed i can already start to smell them.

with a 6 inch fan i doubt they will smell nearly half as much as they will when they start to show their bits !

Yeah will like right now when its running unless im down watering them i dont smell anything. But when it turns off for 6 hours of dark...and then turns back on all the smell that has built up in the tent blows out and creates a nice scent.

@phishtank does that mean during your 6 hours of dark you don't run the exhaust and thats why the smell builds up in the tent? thanks for the tips!

i would leave your exhaust running even at lights out! otherwise the smell is going to escape, also helps keep the humidity down.

Well i use the passive intakes my tent so at night fresh air still gets in plus the fan in the tent runs to move some air around. Once i get my hands on a fan controller i'll take the inline fan off the timer and just turn it down at lights off. I have central air though so i dont have high humidity issues...if anything my problem is low humidity...so i have to put bowls of water in the tent to bring the humidity up to like 30-40 percent.
