Help with lighting and ventilation?

Hello everyone! I'm trying to build a small multiple grow room setup. As far as the area and the hydro setup is concerned, i have an idea of what im doing. I need help with my lighting and ventilation setup. I have 2 items i intend on using for the "room". One is cabinet thing with dimensions 26.5''H x 29.5"W x 16.5"D(room 1). The other is another cabinet that's 21.5"H x 57.25"W x 16.5 x D(room 2). So room 1 has more room vertically by 8" and room 2 has more room width wise by like 20". I'm thinking room 1 for flowering and room 2 for veg. and clones(let me know if that sounds good plz). So....what i need 2 know is what kind of lighting and ventilation you recommend for these two grow rooms given what I'd like to do with each one. Any feedback would b great thanks!!!!!!

sounds like CFL lighting is what you are limitded to. any high watt lighting will be too close and not allow them to grow very tall withot burning. high watt lightin like HPS gets very hot and with only 21.5 and 26.5 inches of vertical clearance there wont be much left for the ballast to hang when the plants are full grown. the only other thing i could say if you wanted to go high watt, is a high watt CFL that needs a special ballast like the HPS. that sahould get too crazy hot. as for ventilation there isnt too much air to move so maybe a large pc fan for exhaust and a desk fan inside each for circulation. hope this helps. i recently redesigned my small grow area so if you need any more help please feel free to ask me. id love to help

yea i just looked at my setup specs n realized im at 32" high X 27" long X 16" deep. ive got a micro grow going and the tallest one i have is around 17 inches. that does cut it pretty close for you with the most, 26 inches. i think if you put some thought into a cfl setup, youl have no problem. jsut keep the lights close as to keep your plants from stretching and keep in small pots. if this is put in grow journals, im subscribed. keep us updated

CFL lighting, with passive intake on both boxes, and an exaust fan pulling out through ducting on each box in to an smaller air tight box containing your carbon filter with ducting coming out the back of the smaller box

I didn't add fans for each box in the pic, but you could do it that way. Which one you decide for flowering or veg is up to you. i'd recomend the more vertical space for flowering.

Yeah......you're stuck with flouros or the LEDs, but I can't talk about the LEDs as I've never dealt with them. Due to the lack of head room.....you'll pretty much have to go straight from clone to bloom so the stretch doesn't kill ya.........maybe a short veg cycle and some LST type training.........experiment a little to find the optimal timing. I'd go straight to 12/12..........see how much room you have left over at harvest and then add veg time to fill the space on the next run.......
The pc fan in the top rear of each cab removes the warmer air.......an appropriate sized elbow prevents light pollution from the outside......passive intake near the bottom where cooler, fresh air comes in bringing co2 with it...... you may need to open the cab for an oscillating fan to blow on the plants and close for stealth..unless you can get air movement that creates plant movement another way......

There used to be a lot of info on shelf systems using 4' flouros.........if you can dig up some of that info...it would apply to you pretty well.....

Hey thanks for the posts guys. Anyone know of a good strain that isn't auto-flowering that would do well with this setup?

Okay update on my setup. New dimensions. I was able to add some room to my veg. and flower chambers. Room 1 is now 5.5'' taller, with dimensions of 29.5"W x 32"H x 16.5" D. Room 2 is now 7.5" taller w/dimensions of 57.5"W x 29"H x 16.5"D. I like the feedback I've gotten thus far and I'm looking into it. With the added height (5.5" on flowering chamber and 7.5" on the veg. chamber) I would like to know if this will change anybody's pointers thus far? When you don't have much room to work with an extra 5.5" on one and another 7.5" on another seems like that would change up what I need 2 do. Please let me know if these added heights will change my setup.

ata tundra is a good one to go for i think it is an auto flowering strain tho, with the height you have in your cab i think you will have to put them straight into flower to keep them low.
