WTF!?!

thank for the input i will be staying one the mh till i go into flowering then i am going to try the envirolite for flowering my reasons being the bulbs are cheaper and running costs are lower
^^^ what you posted earlier today in this thread..... https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/62828-envirolites-125w-any-good-4.html

Are we now to believe you are using an hps for flowering instead of your cfls?

Noone can give you a good answer until you make up your mind. What kind of ballast are you using? Is it switchable? If you were smart ::cough:: you'd stay with the halide.

If you were a baby, I'd shake you.

no i will need to change in the next 2 weeks or so. i don't know what my ballast is as it was given to me it has a 150 mh bulb with it it has no case as it came of a work site pic below, i broke my 125w envirolite when watering my plants. looking at the conversion bulbs they cost alot and no shops have them in my town this is my first grow and i am still learning and any help is welcome. also put pic of my setup so you can see it not a big tent. didn't know you can stay on mh for flowering thought it is the wrong spectrum...

opps forgot to upload pics

1 ballast (ignition 100-400 i take it this is the size of bulb it can take )
2 box envirolite 125w
3 left side of tent with mh 150w
4 right side of tent with mh 150w

so you can stay on mh for flowering why do people change to hps?
this is the first thing i have ever grow should have started with cress (so much to learn). thank you they look a lot better than they did when i got them on the 25th march (pic in my journal)

people change to hps because they don't know any better. Its what someone told them was correct. The red light is going to grow slightly bigger LESS POTENT buds because the trichomes/resin is dilluted by the slightly bigger nugs. The rise in plant material is not proportionate to the rise in trichomes. The halides pump out uvb which force the plant to insulate and protect themselves with more trichomes/resin. Believe that. If you want connoisseur nugs, you grow with halides.

hps has a warmer spectrum which simulates sunsets during the fall on shorter days. mh is strictly for veg . dont argue and just trust the herb. dont go by what you think theyneed watch them and adjust them to how they look .

i think i would rather have a quantity rather than quality. not many people out here grow for quality. it happens how it happens.

could you put a [FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]2700K envirolite with the mh to get the best of both worlds?
my plants 5 of them a 3-4 weeks old and one is a week older don't know what they are, what is a good sign they need to go into flowering?

The size of your light determines when to flower. I suggest you start asap (clones?). as far as adding the envirolite, more light will give more bud if you have enough plant to take advantage. You'll probably have to pull a male or two so you have to determine if the added light will pay for itself.

i think they came from seed, is the any way of finding out what they are not the sex as i thinki know what i am looking for the type i.e ak-47, n/lights?

i will carry on with the mh light into flowering as i would prefer a good smoke than have alot of ok stuff i am hoping one is female as i want a mother plant.i have clonex and root riot at the ready.

thank you again userfriendly

There is no way to know what strain you have unless you bought it from a seedbank or acquired it from a reliable source who then told you. Everything was bagseed.

Now is the best time to take clones. the later into flowering you get, the longer/harder the rooting process. There is always the reveg; which, by the way, is a great way to distinguish photosensitivity in mother plants.

how do you reveg
and what is "is a great way to distinguish photosensitivity in mother plants."

i am sorry i have never even grown cress before these, if the this is a lot of info wheres the best place to find out it out

after taking userfriendly's advice i will be staying with the mh light and have move my plants to 12/12 also added 125w 2700k envirolite.(pic below)
i will be making a reflector to house both light together over the next few days

thanks for the input USERFRIENDLY
i still have a lot to learn but with people like you about i should get there
