Help with first time closet grow??

-I water every other day and feed every other watering.
-I like FoxFarm nutes. They are pretty much fool proof for a beginner. You can start with those now.
-Are you asking about an inline fan? If so, then yes, you will need one to expel the hot air from your grow room. A small oscillating fan would be beneficial too.
-You need to get that light closer. At least 1-3" from the canopy.

18 inches above seems like a bit much for a cfl. maybe drop it like to 5 or 4 so long as it does not burn your plant.
