Help with a mother plant ive borrowed.

ok after flying solo for over a year, i have got to know a couple other growers in my area, one is family the other may as well be.

I have 2 mothers visiting in my veg room, one is bubblegum, the other i was told is a strain called big leaf, although ive never heard of it. ive had these for a week and a half. ive taken my clones and now im keeping the mothers straight until their owners come to pick em up.

the bigleaf is showing some problems with its lower leaves. im thinking its a slight nit def but the upper leaves are all dark green. it kinda looks like nuteburn but i havent fed them at all. as close as ive cam was throwing a cup of MG moisture control soil in the pot cuz i saw some roots showing, which is no good.

looking for some oppinions, were it my plant i would flush it and hit it with mild veg nutes. but i REALLY dont wanna screw this plant up since it isnt mine, i was fortunate enough to get a few free clones that would be a shitty way to repay them.

some info. water is tap set out for at least 24 hour. soil is unknown other than the cup of mg i threw in to cover the roots. PH for water is always 6.3-6.6, usually right at 6.5. vegging under cfls if that matters at all here.

pics are of some of the lower leaves and one i took off that was really bad

what do you think? am i over reacting?

sorry.... but yeah.. considering HID lights are alot stronger than cfl,s
id say that the plants are starving for energy, and now shedding growth they can no longer support due to the weaker light
let those bitches get some sunlight for a day or 2

not slowing down at all really. thanks for the reply about the HID, that could be it, im gonna stick it in my flower room for at least 12 hours a day from here on, move it back into veg room when lights go out. running 600w hps in there. maybe that will slow it down if thats the cause. its really pissing me off cuz its not slowing at all

+rep for anyother ideas, or any confirmations of light stress.

I would agree that it is light stress because I had a situation this year that made me have to move my outdoor girls inside under flouros. They didn't stop growing but the lower leaves yellowed and shriveled and eventually fell off, in fact the plant shed its first 3 nodes but ended up fine, in fact I am just about to harvest her.

The flouro set up was an 8 bulb veg light, pretty powerful for a flouro and the plant still lost lower leaves.

Who knows but more than likely it helped more than hurt.

Also, another thing just struck me...whats the color temp of the CFL's? possible that a change of light temp exasperated the stress.
