Help recognizing male plant

So I have two plants in one DWC.

One plant is twice the size of another, and that one is clearly female with white kinda hair things sticking out, and not much "balls" actually at all.

The smaller one, the bushier one, I can't say... is it just early stage of sex development (because the plant is lagging behind severely, it's 60% smaller than the other one), or is it a male. I suspect it's a male plant, since these little balls are everywhere. And that's how i saw male plants looking on some pictures. Anyway, here are the pics i took with my phone (not perfect I know, I can take some more if it's not clear with my wifes phone, she has better camera than me.

Ok, I'm actually happy that's true because I'm running out of space and this gives me something to work with now that this plant is gone.
However, I do have a followup question. While I was removing the plant, the root system got entangled with bunch of stuff in the DWC, and as a consequence it got ripped and bits of it are now floating in the nutrient solution. Is this going to cause the problem for the remaining plant?

Bunch of dead roots in the water.

Here's the hairy mf...

In effort to clear the DWC box of the floating roots from another plant, i broke off a major branch on the node from the main stem, and a dozen or so leaves fell off. And I failed at clearing the box from dead roots, which will probably start causing root rot on the other plan in few weeks. I added hydroguard, and ordered some more.

The main branch that I broke off i taped it back to the main stem, I'm not sure if that will help but it was better than leaving the main stem exposed like it was.

On top of that, I changed water completely so temperature is off, ph is all over the place... plant is stressed, and all of it has been done during day time, when it's supposed to sleep.
