Help on nutrients

HI,

I am very new at this but i have read alot of info but i am really stuck on nutrients...

Can i get some help with an EC meter? all this ppm and other stuff is making my head spin!!!

this is the model i have and i am using terra flores with water at ph 6-6.5

what reading should i have on my EC meter?

I know it should be 2.0 but my meter isnt in units like this!

also i have canna PK 13/14 and i read that i should be using this for around 7 to 10 days is this true? my WW went into flowering 3 weeks and 2 days ago should i looking to run this 10 day cycle now or waiting till the last 3 weeks of flowering like it says on the bottle?

google CANNA GROWING GUIDE

there are lots of different guides out there some say

flores 20ml plus 6ml pk1314 from week4-7 added to 5L of water (this is what i use at present)
if you are flowering for 8 weeks
repeat week 7 if you are flowering for 9 weeks

like i said though google CANNA GROWING GUIDE and you should get the CANNA recommended guide.

thanks for taking the time to help out ;) i tried to use the canna grow guide before but i got lost when it asked for my tank size... do you know what this means?

is it my pot size? i am using 11 liter pots.
is it my resovior size? which i dont have i am not doing hydro!
is it the size of the container that i keep my water in?

i like the way the formuale your using sounds i dont want to overload them with neuts as they look so green and healthy now and that must be a good thing right :) have you ever used an EC meter? i keep reading all about 2.0 is the limit and when i look at the canna guide it shows 1.2, 1.8 etc but when i use my EC meter it has no decimal places!!! which is really bugging me!

ill get some pics sorted tomorrow so you can see what you have taken the time to help with.
 
Check out this thread it is a friend of mine. He is following the CANNA GROW GUIDE and is not using a res he could help you alot more than i can as i dont monitor EC yet.

I plan on getting a PPM, EC, meter soon so i maybe in the same boat as you lol.

I think it refers to the amount you are mixing at any one time.

But Danthebull can tell you more he has been in contact with CANNA and they said either the grow guide or my equation i found will work just fine.

Huh, never used that before so I can't really comment on it.

But it sounds a little tricky to me, so that's not really really my style. I find that the Advanced Nutrients lineup works better for my needs - no adjustments needed most of the time.

I just set it a little lower than their nute calculator says and I'm good to go.

You might want to call up the company who makes that EC meter to see what they say about reading it correctly.

When in doubt, ask the people who made it. I mean, they're the experts, right? LOL

Also, when in doubt always follow the directions on the bottle - I mean, they don't put them there for no reason..........

This is not always good advice as you could nute burn them quite easily if you follow the directions on the bottle from the word go.

Thats a good thread ;-) and danthebull was kind enough to help with my grow journal so i will contact him with more questions... last night i mixed up 5lt following your formulae and feed two of the plants.

i know i have just started week 3 but the canna guide shows adding at week 3 of flowering so i thought id do two on week 3 and the other two on week for and see if i have a difference.

its interesting how the canna guide also says to just use the 13/14 for a week!!! i will go with you on that and continue for a few more weeks ;-)

yeah i was thinking i could try ringing the manufacture or i might call the guy at the hydro shop who sold it to me.... and on that note the guy at the hrdro shop also said that i should always follow the instructions on the bottle!

I am kind of stuck with the neuts i have as although i have been to a hydro shop for most of my stuff i have no reall access to them!!! so looks like ill have to crack this EC meter mystery :-D

I used formulex for all of veg stage and first week and half of flower and so far i have a few tips that look a little dark and crispy but overall the plants are very green and with the ones i cut down no matter how big the pot even the 11 litre the root system has been very strong.

i have terra vega which i might use for the veg phase of the next lot but as things have gone pretty well with these i am reluctent to try.

i will use the formulae we dsicussed above as i would rather give the plants less neuts than more and if i follow the instructions the amount used would be more than the formulae.

i think you will be surprsied by the pics i put up today as if you read any threads on the cannbisseeds.com WW strain its all doom and gloom but for me so far so good ;-)
