Help!? Not Sure whats wrong with seedling

Buddy of mine got these seedlings going, all of them have been showing some severe clawing, now the one that isn't clawing is showing what he originally thought was heat stress, after moving away from the light it worsened slightly. Could it be nute burn (even though its just in FFOF soil at the moment). What do you guys think? He has no idea.

FFOF is hot soil and can burn seedlings easily. I would make sure you water it only lightly for the next week or so, it should grow out of it. What light are you using? I would probably move the light back closer but that is a guess without knowing the details of your grow.

I'd say your plant is showing signs of heat stress as well as a little nute burn, I go with cascadian's advise.

Awesome thanks for the advice, along the lines of what I was thinking, he hasn't watered for 3-4 days now and the signs of heat stress / nute burn have only progressed extremely minorly so he'd be inclined to agree with you on that. I'll keep the post updated on how they're going. Also, would heat stress cause clawing? The other seedling is showing pretty intense clawing.

Heat stress can cause clawing. PH issues can also cause it. Too much Nitrogen/overnute can cause it. Rootbound could cause it but they are too small for that to be the issue. I would guess it is overnute or PH... If it is being watered with tap water currently try distilled water or filtered water with a quality filter.

I germ in a paper towel inside to foam plates in a dome with heat mat. sprouts go straight into 50/50 (ocean forest/light warrior--2tsp powdered dolomite/gallon) and I have never burned a single one. these lil suckers actually tripled in size in just under 2 weeks. biggest one is now 7" tall with 5 nodes. Point is..... less is more, at least while they're young. Go mad scientist when they are at least 1.5 months old from seed, then they can take a pounding. Untill the cotyledon yellows and drops just give declorinated tap 150ppm is good for tap, otherwise add cal mag to some purified. With cal mag for seedlings, I wouldn't go higher than 100ppm, cuz there's nitrogen in there.
