Help new to cooking with cannabis

i've never cooked with cannabis in my life but i cook for a living and finished culinary school years ago. i had a few simple questions regarding the use in cooking.

1. does the buds need to be dried to use in cooking via making butter?
2. how do i know how much weed to put in my butter? i have a low tolerance right now haven't smoked in months. haven't smoked a lot since my teens.
3. what is the best dessert to make with canna butter? im not a fan of brownies but i want a dessert particularly because i plan to eat some edibles before bed time usually i have sweets so it will help me knock out. or will anything really do? i've heard it tastes nasty or can if you don't know how to cook with it idk if that is true or not though

anything else i need to really know about cooking with cannabis? i have a general idea of how to make butter doesn't look very difficult

You have to decarboxylate the cannabis....heat to a certain temperature for a certain amount of time, look it up through YouTube

I made some infused Coconut oil....actually easy to do
I've used as little as a 3.5 grams, just follow the directions

thanks imma look into making butter again in a few weeks still curing it so don't think it is even ready for use.
