Help my new growth is twisting pretty hard

So im about a month and a half into my first grow and everything is looking great until now. I dont know if its really anything to worry about since im new to growing:dunce: but my newest leaf growth at the top of my plant are curling. The tips are yellowing and look like they're drying out, and they are curling like a spiral pattern and then like 90 degree turnaround at the tips. Ive got a little problem with bugs too eating at my leaves and i was wondering if there is any correlation to that. I am feeding with half strength miracle grow about once a week maybe twice depending on how she looks. Shes in a good mixture of topsoil organic dirt and perlite. Any help would be appreciated, im gonna try and get some pics up but i dont have a good camera and my phone is very low quality. Shes under two 26w daylight cfls and one 55w 2700k.. If you have any other questions shoot away. Keep it real green! Thnx:bigjoint:

Yellowing is usually over feeding what size are they but pictures would really be better the curling is normal just shooting out new leaves but the bugs is quite serious make sure your grow box is really clean and there is some mite killing for the soil what you get all the best!!!!!

ok so I dont really have a box its kinda just in a room.. im in need of some serious pest control, they seem to love my lil gurl. ive seen nothing under the leaves but occasionally there is some lil black spots of residue on top of the leaves. as for pests ive seen lil ant lookin bugs with wings and little green aphid lookin things and a fly or two but so far no mites from what i can tell. alot of my leaves are chewed up a bit and have holes thru them.. im really concerned about her since shes showing signs of preflowers on the nodes. i dont really have a box.. its kinda just in a room.. no reflectors either.. its a pretty low budget grow. i mist it once a day with superthrive and small amounts of nutes because i thought it might help the pests but they just seem to eat it anyway. shes about 8 or 9inches and tied down in 3 spots with about 7 or 8 "colas" since in doing lst and im really just tryin to look out for her health. im going to try to upload some pics off my phone for you to check out. thnx for the input smiffy!

I have done some research on this and spray her with luke warm water this will get them of the leaves and help them for a while you do not need a reflector for two 26w daylight cfls and one 55w 2700k check the soil before you feed her as well to check for little maggots which are root aphids which cause the little pests.

I like to take her outside in the sun because she really perks up outside should i discontinue taking her out? Lst is teh way for me =D I like the thought of multiple colas. Looks pretty good for my first time around right?

they look warm have you got a fan in there with her and also you might stress her a bit moving her around keep her where she is thats ya best bet, how close are the lights from her as well??

Niice grow though well done

#1 reason pot dies is the grower doing too much. Too much water, nutes, transplanting, etc. I would buy some black/white plastic and line an old stove, fridge, etc box. Put in a $1 thermostat and keep temps between 65-85f . fan is a must for different reasons. Water every 3 days or as needed. You should water enough that water goes to bottom of container but pot does like soil on the dryer side and swamp water will kill it. Follow your fertilizer directions! if you use cheap department store ones? be carefull because they are actually much stronger than the ones you get from hydro stores and you can burn up your plant ez. Bugs: there is a safe soap based bug spray you can put right on your plants in the vegging state, since your going to mist your plants daily anyways, it will remove most of the soap. This bug spray is for vegtables so it is safe to ingest. Kinda all over with this help but help is all im trying to do, enjoy your grow :+)

The 2 daylights are about 2in away from the plant and the 2700k about 3in. also i have a pretty big fan blowing constantly so temps are ranged from 70-80 rarely reaching 80 or above and the humidity is 50-80% She sprouted some preflowers at the top 2 nodes a day or two ago(its hard to see but theyre pear shaped with a split at the top, it looks like theres gonna be pistils sprouting outa the top but its too soon to tell.) im gonna stop taking her outside too ^.^ i dont need a hermie on my hands(or a male for that matter lol) Umm I have an old refridgerator but idk if the fan would fit in it and it might get a lil warm in it but ima see if i cant figure out something for a box because of those pesky bugs.. Im going to look for that soap because they are just eating away at my plant and its really bothering me. I was wondering tho, how much longer do you think i should veg? I know its too early to flower but im tryin to score like a zip off of her. i was thinking about buying a couple Y splitters and getting 2 more daylight cfls. or should i save my money and get the 2700ks for flowering? Thanks for the replies Smiffy and Mr Tiger ill upload a few more pics in a couple days when you can see a difference in size.

If your worried about the Electricity bill you should look in to a 100 watt HPS it does not use half as much 250,400,600,1000 also a split ender would be a great idea for vegging it would speed vegging time up they thrive on light.
I have just tied mine down a bit more today i will upload some pics if its ok when i turn the light off, also try potato peel in the soil for two days they will be attracted to that.

Smiffy was right on the money. I overdid it on a couple plants just last wk. Looks just like yours. Almost.
Ok so don't fert for a couple wks. U can leach the nutes by giving it copious amounts of water and allow it to dry out but not bone dry, yes? Then fert with 1/4 strength. Def less then before. A teaspoon of Epsom salts per gallon is good for root development.
But even that u should only do every third watering, roughly.

063011_0120[00].jpg*Update* 063011_0113[00].jpgIve got rusty-brown dead spots on only one of my leaves and most of the others have a purplish tint to them. whats causing this? do you think theres a deficiency or what? thanks guys!

I'm just guessing its the miracle gro you really need to go with a better medium or hydroponics:clap:I used to grow in just rock wool then when my state went legit and the grow shops open up and all the ffof hype~I had to try it:finger:I did! Now I'm going back to rock wool it easier and a lot cleaner in the apartment:lol:
