Help! my light

My light is flickering a little bit then it will stop. I noticed it one hour before lights out is this my ballast going out?

all depends was a dryer put on , microwave ,ect and its on the same circuit as the light it could cause it to flicker just keep an eye on it. Peace

It may well be that if your light went off even for a second in a power interruption that it attempted to restart the bulb immediately and the bulb cannot power back up properly until it has cooled down for at least 15 minutes,on a 400watt hps anyway may be longer for a 600 watt.

If after the bulb has cooled down properly it still flickers check that it is screwed in tightly enough.
Failing all that i would buy a new bulb before i bought a new ballast
