Help me stop it before it happens

hey a friend of mine gave me a plant because he was leaving for college. So naturally I accepted the responsibility of maintaining his already 4 foot tall plant. i kept watering it regularly and just waiting for buds. But now i am noticing a couple of leaves are getting little brown and yellowish spots. How do i stop this before it starts to spread. Plus any tips are appreciated.

(I will post pics later!)

-Thanks-

are you feeding it every time? like what is the watering schedule/percedure you are using? You only really want to feed the plant(s) once per week and keep a water/feed every other schedule. as far as what you are explaining it sounds like a lil nute burn or nutrient lockout. Are you PH ing your water? is it soil, hydro? i mean there are a lot of variables that need to be listed to get accurate help. PIC please and growing medium. But in general make sure ph is right(soil i like 6.5) dont over feed, and if continues to spread you might have to flush. GL

Shit always breaks when it's on loan. Pics'll help. If they're lower leaves, and/or are only a few, don't despair . . . probably just shedding a few tired, old leaves. This happens along the way.

That is a lot of stuff i have no clue about. It is outdoors and in soil. I am not ph'ing my water, i am watering daily usually around 1-2 pm from the hoes. can you explain how to do some of this stuff such as feeding. And could you also suggest a sort of rough guide lines so i can formulate a schedule for watering and feeding. Thank you

Look in the faq's under your concern, which would be either indoor or outdoor growing, general. GROWFAQ

In all likelihood, it's ready to go into flower. Just take your time and don't overwater. It's not a hard thing to do, if you keep it simple. You go gettin' into ph and such and you're entering another, more advanced, style of growing, which is fine, if that's what you're in to.
Personally, I seek the biggest, stinkiest harvest while doing the least amount of work.

i figured how much could i screw it up with the basics. but still i would like to know about this feeding concept.

well you answered your own problem. You are burning your plants, my guess is your tap water ph is very high in acid which is causing nutrient lockout(your plant is unable to utilize its food) all that buildup will lead to burn. You really have to know where the ph is for this to workout. GL

There's a section on ph in the faq's, I believe? Wish I could help, but not something I pay attention to.
I did go online to the local water co. and visited their site, which contained the local waters' average ph.

I do nothing special either. Just planted in horse manure compost and watered. I water a lot.
