How do you do this? I am thinking right now about putting a 12x12 one inch thick air filter from lowes that is used for a house ac return. I am using panda film and would cut a perfect hole and use duct tape to install the filter. Im pretty sure light will pass through this so I am going to put it on the backside of the tent against the wall. I dont think much light goes back there but im just trying to make sure everything is perfect before the flowering time. Any ideas what you guys use?

shouldnt be a problem on the back side of the tent but to be safe I would put a a fitting, like 45 or 90, on. good luck!

Yeh I've always wondered this too, how you'd make a lightproof fan without ducting. If you have a closet within a room then fine. Maybe cardboard around it bent to an angle or something p

What I have done with my tents is put a flange on one of the lower vent openings and attach a 90 degree 6" elbow and then another one going the opposite way. I paint the inside of the elbows with flat black paint to stop reflection and if you want you can attach a 6" inline fan to the end.

It gets air in and blocks the light. The black paint is essential.

Hope that helps.

I have an 8in exhaust fan and the intake is passive(no motor). I cut about a ten" hole in the back and its still sucking the panda film in all around the tent I made. I went to lowes today looking for a ten or twelve inch adjustable 90 elbow and the biggest they had was 8". Im going to try home depot tomorrow and hopefully they have two of them and some flat black spray paint. I got the phresh 8x39 filter hooked up today. The smell is really bad and im only in veg stage. I hope that solves the smell all the way through the grow. Its a huge beastly filter. I might need to go with two 8's is there is no ten out there.
