Help Me Design My First DIY Custom Cob Fixture 20"x46" Closet

Hey guys,

Wow there are a lot of posts on here like this. Thank you for taking the time to check mine out.

I currently have this grow started under a Mars Hydro 600 panel. (260 actual watts) My original plan was to add a second identical panel to my grow space, but after a few suggestions in my journal here on RIU, I've decided to save this panel for vegging and build myself a COB fixture for flowering.IMG_1865.JPG IMG_1864.JPG

The canopy space will be 20"x46" I need help picking out the most efficient setup that will maximize my PPFD. I have done a ton of research the last week and familiarized myself with a few different COBs, how to read their data sheet, and how to determine which driver will power how many of each COB. From that I am able to determine lumens and from there I can come up with LUX.

That's where I get lost. Not sure what my multiplier should be to find my PPF and then from there how to convert to PPFD.

I am currently considering 3 options, but am completely open to more if you have something that will rock my world.

Setup #1
2x3 Citizen 1212 3500k 320h@1400

Setup #2
2x4 Citizen 1212 3500k 320h1050

Setup #3
2x3 Vero29 D gen7 3500k 320h@1400

Should my frame go completely across the grow area with the COBs evenly spaced between the walls, or should I go with a smaller 36" frame and keep the COBs closer together?

Reflectors, no reflectors?

I hope to be ordering components in about a week or so, and I am completely open to any advice and suggestions as well as further reading.

I want optimum lighting for this space, and I would rather have too much than too little, especially if there is room on the driver for more COBs.

I would prefer to not run 2100 for various reasons, but mostly because I don't want to rely on any more fans. Even a $10 computer fan, unless it's really going to make an eye popping difference.

Ok COB experts. What would you do?

Alright guys! This thing is staring to come together. I chose Vero over citizen for 2 reasons.
1) The new poke in connectors in the SE version
And
2) Vero is considerably brighter on paper.

As you can see, I've drawn up a frame that will hang directly in the middle of my growing area. This places 1 Vero COB @ 50 watts perfectly centered in each square foot of the closet.

They aren't on perfect 12" centers, but this should be more than enough light for my canopy. The exact square footage is 6.4 or 0.6 square meters.

So 6 36V Vero @ 1400 will be approximately 300 watts, slightly less than 50w per sq ft. Not sure how I can estimate my PAR reading without a guage.

@1400 data sheet shows 176 lumens per watt or 52,800 lumens.

I'm sure this will be more than enough, but can anyone help me estimate what range PPFD I should be in 12-18" above the canopy, and whether or not I should need reflectors with my current spacing?
