Help matching the right Vero 29 with my driver

Hello everyone!

First grow and build for me and I could use a little advice. This light is strictly for flowering in a 3'x3'x6' grow tent, 2 plants at a time. I plan on using 5 Vero 29 in an X pattern powered by the Mean Well HLG-320H-1400B driver (320w, 114-229 VDC, 1400 mA).

I didn't buy the driver yet but based on what I believe my needs are this is the one I plan to get, my questions are should I grab all 3000k since it's just for flowering, and which specific Vero 29 gen 7 3000k would match that driver and my needs best. I am open to any suggestions, even if they require a complete overhaul of my idea. The other option I was also considering was 2 150 watt, 3 COB bars, powered by separate drivers but I figured in a 3x3 the X patterns should do just fine.

Any input is highly appreciated, like most just getting into this I've driven myself insane with research and am still a little lost so thanks ahead of time!

Welcome, Sturns-I think that your basic design is probably best for your tent size. There seems to be a few different camps on which version of the Vero to use-the higher voltage versions have a more efficient design but it can be a cost factor getting drivers to run the system. I just used the 36v versions in a 3k spectrum. I run 2-4 lamp bars in my room and drive each with a HLG-320H-2100B and just power them down when I don't need the penetration.

You jave to get the 36v ones to run them on that driver. The 50v chips have to much voltage.. You will pull around 250w..
Cheers

Thanks for the info guys! Gonna start ordering the parts today. Think I'm gonna go with the 36v version to run 5 cobs with that driver, hoping that's sufficient for the 3x3 space.

You will have a hot spot in the centre with that X config. Growmau5 made one the same and he did all the par readings. You could run 4 Vero Cs at the corners, get a more even spread, pack 400W into the 3 x 3, would cost you less and have better efficacy. I know the different voltages with the veros confuses things but the Cs are the shit.

Man am I glad you got in here before I started to buy, that actually sounds like a much better plan. I think I might even just mimic the kit you linked so I have a guideline to go by. Thank you.
