Genetics in a plant will make certain things happen. A phenotype will also do these things. What strain is it?
N P K
N = Nitrogen
P = Phosphorus
K = Potassium (Potash)
The stems usually turn colors either by pheno or genetics, but not until late veg early flower. It is more likely the nutes you are giving it.
Too little info was given. But excuse me as I am not really a "hardcore" rollitup user. I'm on other boards. Still have few friends here though.

its badseed so I dont remember. its a month and a half old and has had the stripes since week one. do you think it could just be purps?

no not from bagseed unless u live in cali and have alot of shitty growers around u
Heh. I don't live in Cali and last grow was bagseed that turned purp. So yes, it is possible. But not very likely.

SiCo is right. A purple strain is either cloned or purchased. THe chances that you get a purple pheno on bag seed is HIGHLY unlikely. It's a deficiency. Just givem more N P K and you should start seeing darker leaves with a nice sugary top!

you all got away from the question! can any give any input on whether they think this is male or female???
Hard to tell ATM, but you'll know or sure in a few more days. I'm leaning toward fem, but I have difficulty judging that early on.
