I just added a 400w MH to my grow room and the temp is fine at 75 degrees but one of the bottom leaves are turing lighter green and gettin hard and frail. Its about a month into veggie stage and iv been feeding it max gro nuts every 6 days then just recently upped it to every 3 days... if anyone at all can throw me some suggestions id appreciate it kiss-ass
Here is my set up
Lights= 400w MH sunburts high intensity (about 15 inches from the top)
water= PH 5.5-6.5 nuts every 3 days( just started that today, was every 3 days water every 6 days nuts)
Temp= 75 during the day 70-65 at night

Now my best guess is that a week ago i might of spilled nuts on the leaf when i was watering it but im open for ideas. Its the last picture that is the issue leaf.

well no i dont. the reason he looks over watered is cause it was when he just woke up and he always looks kinda droopy in the mornings..he spreads his leaves out when the light comes on for a good hour....i make sure to test the ph of the water b4 i feed it every 3 days.....how many days should i wait between feeds?

Looks like you need to cut back on the nutes and the water. If all was fine till you upped the nutes then thats one of the problem. Over watering and over feeding are the #1 problems new growers have. Water depends on a lot of things like temp humidity air flow and other stuff, so watering and feeding on set days is not good indoors. Pot is a weed and soil needs to dry some before re-watering. Over fertilizing causes most deficencys. So stop watering and feeding so much. I never go over 50% with my nutes till late flower. Pick your pots up befotre you water again and if they dont feel light its Not time to water. Pot should not feel heavy, that means the soil is still wet. Wet soil causes root rot and a host of other problems. Good Luck and Have Fun~!

ya i figured that as well but every time i go more then 3 days without watering or nuts the plant gets pissed off and willows...i fear if i dont feed him he will die....but ur suggestion is good just i got the light green spots on the leaf b4 i upped his food...im pretty sure it was that i dropped a little nuts on him when i was watering it

it wasnt the nutes, takes a few days for things like this to pop up when its nutes, i would keep watering with the nutes and water only when the pot started feeling light... also, make sure you get runoff to prevent buildup

thanks for the help......i dont think i can save that one leaf but i think the plant is doing fine...shes another few inches taller now and out of its 50 leafs i think 1 is ok to lose....anyone have any suggestions on how far the 400w should be from the top of the plant?

ok so here is an update and more issues....i suck at this grow....i lowered her from 12 inches to about 20 inches from the light....i also havent feed it for 3 days now and the soil is bone dry and as light as can be...He is in a permeant willowing stage or something and its frustrating....here are some more pictures if anyone can throw some more advice.

Now just water it with some nutrients and wait.

do you think it can be PH issues? When i add the nuts to the water it always bring the ph all the way very acidic.. i correct it with ph up to about 6.5-7 and dump it in the soil.....is it possible that the soil may turn the ph up or down?

well i just fed it few hours ago so i dont wanna burn it...next feed ill add a drop of ph down......also do you every feed you plants just plain water without nuts at this stage?

I'll be honest, I always use nutes, I never skip them except when I'm ready to flush right before harvest. In your case though, it just seems like the plant is trying to get use to the light, it is wilting but then again its nice and green. Lower growth is always expected to yellow since it doesnt get much light.

dam thanks hobo i owe ya....your like superman if this turns out right...thanks for the advice and hopefully with my first grow i can get lucky and have it yield decent.

Keep your 400w 18'' to 20'' above. Put the back of your hand under the light at the same height as the top of your plant. If if doesnt get hot your golden.

ya i had him about 12 inches and it seems as tho the top new leaves were trying to flip over upside down so i lowered him a good 8 inches and hes sitting pretty at about 20-25 inches and the tops flipped back over...i also added little saucer pans filled with water to evaporate to try and keep the room a little more moste. seems to be working to casue i have to refill um twice a day it evaporates from about 30 inches from the light.

Oh ya and dose anyone know if this is normal for the smaller beginning leaves are supposed to be curled?
