Hi all, Ive got one plant that is about 2 weeks into flowering. For the past 2 weeks the lower leaves of the plant are starting to yellow. At first it was only a few leaves at the bottom but it is starting to spread upwards. I looked into it and believe it is a nitrogen defficency but Im afraid to add more nutes in case im wrong. I flush with water completely about 4 days ago so I need to water in the next day or so. Here are some pics please help if you have any ideas. I have also started to notice some small little brown spots on the affected leaves.

EDIT - for nutes I have fox farms big bloom, and tiger bloom

plant is a total of 6 weeks old, 4 veg and 2 flowering. using growers gold organic soil. during veg used fox farms grow big. currently use 1/4 of whats recommended by fox farms tiger bloom and big bloom. under 400 watts of cfls (not equivalent but actually 400 watts). temp varies between 75 and 85 while lights are on (depending on outside temps). humidity is about 50%

if I do in fact have a nitrogen defficiency, should I add some more of my nutes and water them, or should I be trying to figure out the ph and see if anything else is wrong

test ph of water then with nutes added( it will drop with nutes)it does look like n def but also i see burnt tips. test some run off from bucket might help to ( see whats in soil still)

thx for advice, yes the tips of a decent amount of leaves are slightly burned, but I believe that is from a nut burn earlier in their life.

as long as they dont spread should be ok then.be carefull with more nutes.it may have been close to locking out. adding more nutes to strong and improper wet/dry cycle may lock it.

those burnt tips could be the whole problem.lack of n could be because of the lock out and plant cant take up nutes so it looks def.i would do a flush,2 to 3 times the amount of water as bucket size, let drain about an hour then hit with 1/4 strenght bloom nutes.

are you sure it will be ok to hit it with nutes today even if it is burned? I have put about 3 times the amount of water and let it all drain through, at first the water was a dirty color but towards the end was much more clear.

You should be alright. That's why you put 3 times the amount of water thru it. To leech all the built up ferts and salts out. kinda like starting from a clean slate.

On a side note and not to ruin your thread but I was watching cnn this morning about the mid-west floods. The news guy said that alot of the crop land there is corn. He also said that corn uses 160 pounds of nitrogen per 1 acre. essentially what this flood is doing is washing all that fert from all those fields down the mississippi to the golf where it ends up in what he called the dead zone. He said there is such a high concentration of N there that nothing can live.

ok thank you, so after about an hour ill mix about 1/4 the reccomended dose of tiger bloom, and big bloom to a gallon of water, and give about how much water do you think. usually I only water when its very dry but since its so wet how much/little water should i use.

yes because by flushing it you washed all the nutes out so they need to be replenished to help recover. remember only a 1/4 mix though. and nothing, no water till the top couple inches are dry. it may look worse(droopy and weak ) for a few days because of all the water, but it will rebound. i have 3 to 5 gallon pots and mine took 6 day of nothing before they were ready for water
