Help, Is my bulb gone or my ballast?

Hi guys,

just been to check my girls, seems my light has not come back on. Tried unplugging them from the timer into the socket, still nothing! The ballast is making a strange buzzing/clicking noise, i presumed this was normal? although it gave me a nasty shock when i tried unplugging it!

I have a pic of the bulb, hoping someone can tell me whether its just a blown bulb or maybe something more serious?

Bad ballast imo.

Thanks for the quick reply snaps, is there any you would recommend when looking for a new ballast?

digital or magnetic ballast? Did you wait at least 5 minutes before trying to restart?

pretty sure its magnetic, i left them unplugged for 20 mins before i tried them, tried again the next morning, still nothing.

Cheap Chinese ballast is notoriously fickle (from personal experience)

If magnetic ballast probable the capacitor or igniter . Never had much trouble with igniters but capacitors I've had to replace. Shouldn't be more than $25 for a cap.
