HELP, I'm baking my buds....and not in the good way

iI have a box grow going, maybe 5-6 weeks into flowering, and i just can't keep my plant away from my lights.
it's about 20 inches, i never topped it because at the time i was unaware of the benefits and the size of the plant didn't require it, but now i have a nice thick bud growing at the top and it is almost against the glass of my 150w hps lamp, the petals are browning, its obviously dry and i simply do not have another inch i can give it because of the confines of the box.
this shouldn't be a problem next time because the container i used was already very tall and the new ones i have set aside should be much more appropriate.

i have a length of twine tied to the main stem about halfway up, and then i anchored it to the pot and have the plant growing more on a 70 degree angle (as opposed to 90), i dont know how to express it as a number.

i'm loosing my point. my plant is too tall for my box, its late into flowering so i guess i couldn't top it. and i don't know how to bend it any further, and whether i should bend it any further. i placed a larger fan i n the box to lower the temp, but it's about on the glass so now what? any suggestions???

Bend it as much as you possible can, as long as you dont fully snap it , no problem. good luck!
If this plant is almost done anyways, you might consider moving it away from the middle, more on the perimeter.

Also... since you say a shorter pot for your next grow, you could repot it. It kind of sucks to repot it this late into flowering, but it would be better than scorching the main cola to death.
