Help identifying....

Hey guys first post here, and I need some help identifying what kind of pest I just found on one of my plants is.....I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find anything about these. The only thing they somewhat resemble is a soil mite, but they look different...if it helps any I found this on my Bigfoot OG plant. She’s about 42 inches tall, being grown outside and still in veg. She’s in FFOF soil in a 15 gallon smart pot. Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: Oh and I forgot to mention this was found on one of the lower fan leaves, after looking closer I found about a handful on this on different fan leaves towards the bottom

This seems like a slow moving forum so I hope eventually someone comes along that knows what these things are. I’ve looked at pictures of thrips and while they look similar, from what I understand thrips aren’t white like these so I don’t think that’s it. I don’t know, I’m totally stumped. These things move pretty fast so I don’t think they’re some sort of mite....I just don’t know. I sprayed my plants 5 days ago with Azamax because I noticed some signs of spider mites, and after I saw these white bugs I sprayed her down with captain jacks. I’ve looked everywhere online and I can’t find anything that resembles these bugs. I’m growing in Maine btw if that helps anyway.

So just an update......i have still yet to figure out what kinda of bug this was i found on my Bigfoot OG....I have looked far and wide, searched through almost every bug thread on this site and many others and still can't figure out what this is. I'm kinda hoping someone out there has seen these little bastards before. Ever since i sprayed her down with captain jacks I've yet to come across anymore but would really like to know what it is so for next season I'm prepared and can maybe use some sort of preventative. I know I'm not gonna stop every bug from living on my plants since I'm an outdoor grower but i like to avoid unnecessary aggravation at all costs. Like i said this is my first year grow and I've learned an insane amount of information from the wealth of knowledge and experienced growers on this site, so thank you to this site for being available to first time growers like myself.

.. the pace picks up from time to time around here Jim!

Search 'thrips' and see if that don't look like it, good luck! ..& and treat it fast for best results

Hey man thanks for the reply. I’ve looked up pictures of thrips and unless it’s some type of thrip I have never seen it doesn’t seem to be what they are. Plus there was no damage to my leaves either and thrips can definitely mess a plant up pretty bad! Like I said I haven’t seen them ever since I sprayed with captain jacks so all is good but I’d still like to know, especially if someone who’s a first time grower like me comes across these at least they’d be able to identify them from this thread, and not have to search for hours and hours like I have haha.

She’s looking pretty healthy all and all tho. Still waiting on her to switch to flower....down to almost 13 hours of daylight so I hope she flips soon. All my other 4 have started flower except this girl. And since BigFoot is known to flower in 49 days I’d love to have a nice early fall harvest!

Really? that's the first thing I thought of as soon as I saw your pic?

I've never had them so I don't know for sure but look like it to me?

You know what man, you might actually be right. They do somewhat resemble what I was seeing, but the only reason I didn’t think it was thrips is because thrips seem to be more of a clear or dark color and these bugs I found, as you can see from the pic, seemed almost pure white like a chalk white, but maybe it was just the sunlight making them look soo bright white. So maybe it was a colony of thrips that I caught early enough to get rid of them. And these things moved pretty damn fast too, so who knows maybe that was the culprit.

That’s another less magnified pic of the same bug.

You looking for clear bugs Jimmy?

Via the six legs is the best way I know to identify thrips. Leafhoppers leave bright white circles about 1/16 of an inch all over the place, no idea what the larvae looks like but either way you need to start treating it before it gets any further advanced!

Absolutely agree with this, looks like a thrip, maybe a little more white the expected but that could be the light like the op suggested or maybe just a slightly brighter looking sub species of thrip around your area? Hope you have good luck getting them under control!
