I currently am trying to help out my friends with their little grow. I don't know what all is wrong, but I have a couple ideas but it just doesn't add up... Ok so, all I know is that they are sack seeds, in mirical grow potting soil, their tips were fried off with too hot of lights at one point, (but they've been having issues before then) ok uhm, the lights are all florecense, but were too close.. Touching t5 HO's idek the wattage, I'm pretty sure it's in the 30's and there's 3 of those bulbs, two more Regular t5 bulbs, and 4 little cfl bulbs.. They're backed off now that the tips have started growing back (it seems like the new growth is yellow but it's kinda random) also there has been A LOT of foliage dead spots.. The leaf tips are dying and spots on the fan leafs.. Also at the bottom, the leafs are falling off. They die but they don't turn brown, they die and stay green but crumble when you pick them up. Any ideas what's goin on here? I don't see any mites or anything.. I'm the only one who gives nutrients, I use gh 3 step, I use .5mL of all 3 parts per gallon (usually around 400-550 ppm and adjust ph to around 6-6.5 and usually doesn't even need adjusting) just let the pics speak for themselves i guess? I picked some of the dead stuff off (really just fell off with a light touch) and they look better now than they did, but I don't understand the symptoms. Any help would be appreciated

did you mean 5ml/gal cuz 0.5ml / gal is not much nutrients at all? ....looks like they are underfed.
which GH feeding schedule are you using?
ph is off a little bit too...6.5 is ideal for soil 6.0 is a tad low for soil...

3-2-1, 2-2-2, 1-2-3 (currently in the 2-2-2) but no, I typed .5 and the last feed was .5ml each that came out I think 400ppm? I'm not feeding on a schedule, it's every time I get the opportunity and hoping that miracle grow is supplying enough nutes when I can't give them any.. Usually a couple weeks or 3 weeks between feedings. It's been a while since I fed them and I wanted to take it easy on the nutes so I didn't burn them.. Heard it was better to under feed than to over feed, no? I also didnt realize it would be so long till I got to come feed them (shh.. Don't tell my friends I do t trust them with feeding them lol) but this feeding was 1.5 ml each as the size is much bigger than they were. The ppm was 900 something. I added about 50-60 ppm of mag into the food just to give it a little extra (using ro water with about 12 ppm) so about 840 ppm of gh nutes or so.. And the ph isn't maintained "at" 6.0 it's just I never let it go below 6 at all.. It's usually 6.3+ and this time was 6.4

This is the GH weekly feeding program. Volume of each part is per gallon of water in the following order: grow + micro + bloom = ppm range. Example: 5/2.5/2.5= 400-600 that would mean
5 ml grow + 2.5 ml micro + 2.5 ml bloom = ppm of 400-600. Remember it’s per gallon.
1 gal – 3.785 liters
Veg -
week 1 - 5ml Grow – 2.5ml Micro – 2.5ml Bloom-400/600 ppm
week 2 - 10ml Grow - 5ml Micro – 3ml Bloom – 600/800 ppm
week 3 - 12ml Grow – 6ml Micro - 3ml Bloom 800/1000 ppm (continue week 3 formula if additional veg time is required.)

feed schedule....i usually feed / feed / than just water.

I got that down, No prob.. I know the feeding schedule is fucked up.. But is there any other problems other than under feeding? When I added 1.5ml of each, the ppms were higher than I initially intended them to be. Maybe my EC conversion is of the higher range? Who knows.. I just wanted to play it safe by under feeding instead of running the risk of nute burn..

Ok so next feeding if the problems aren't getting better, ill try upping the dosage and try to get 6.5ph? Any ideas of what nutrients it's lacking or any additional problems? Because it doesn't seem to match up with just one problem and I can't figure it out

possibly root-bound as well. pull one out of pot, carefully, and check roots, if roots are all around soil (root-ball)then you will need to put them into bigger containers.

That's a possibility.. Ill have to check that out next time I go out there as well.. How big of pots do you need to grow in soil? I think the ones they are in are either 1 or 2 gallons? Fairly decent size (besides one) and also what does it mean when the bottom leafs are falling off like they are? At the nodes, there are two leafs that go off from the main stem, the bottoms are the only ones dying/falling off.. Also when I was looking around and examining, one of the fan leafs from mid to the top just fell off, ive messed with other plants before and I know to be gentle, but I've never had a leaf fall off so easily.. Could that be potassium deficiency/lockout?

judging by the size of your plants, looks like they could use more room...3-5gal is what i use, way before they go into flower, to allow roots to grow into soil.

lockout will occur if you have been feeding too much, causing excessive salt/nutrient build up in soil, which i don't think it is in your case.

seems they are nutrient deficient and probably root-bound...transplant and feed more often ;) they are big and can handle higher doses, than what you have been feeding them.

edit : ph way out of wack can also cause lockout ...but yours in pretty much bang on

Okay. Ill give it a try since I got nothin else to do..
also I thought it was possible to lock out nutes with ph being too high/low.. I've only put in nutrients ph'd properly, I haven't tested the ph of the actual soil. I'm Incharge of feeding, they're the ones who water.. So idek what water they are giving them when I'm gone.. Hopefully ill get a 400w hps on them so that they have better light and I won't have to worry about the lights being the issue..
If I use florecense for seedling vegging stage, when would be an ideal time to switch from florecense to hid? For future references when I decide to actually use some of my white widow seeds..

true...but not in your case as ph is pretty much bang on.

The crispy leaves falling off, plus the look of heat stress on the fan's in the 2nd to last pic causes me to suspect too much heat.

Check out the close up pic showing the nodes.. Any idea why the bottom ones are the only ones suffering so badly? I do agree with the heat issue as when I showed up one day, the lights were too damn close and the tops got burn off of some of them.. I pulled the lights back so hopefully that'll fix that prob, but would that explain the new growth being light green/yellow and the bottom leafs dying and falling off?
