Help...I live in a pwer shit hole

Every summer, a hurricane or storm knocks the power out. I have a generator..but.....just in case it shits out what can I do for my DWC? I have battery powered pumps..but what about light? How bad would I be fucked?

A generator can run your lights, or you can put them outside if possible, or you can run them off a series or car batteries for a day or two if necessary, and you can charge batteries of the generator (although there's some inefficiency there, it's best to charge a lot or batteries before the storms and have them all ready), you could also buy solar panels to charge the batteries (expensive though). Worse comes to worse they can live for a day or two without light.
